  1. your best bet is to get it running best you can then have someone set it up on on a dyno, the difference can be fairly significant. You don't want blow back through the carbs, although popping, banging and flames through the exhaust is more than acceptable...
  2. you'd feel the looseness of the car when driven if the bushes have started to fail, plus you'd get the clonks and knocks from the rear when on-off the power that gives an idea on the condition of the A frame bush. Not sure if worn bushes will be heard when stationary considering most are pretty hard to push up and down to judge any movement Most have seen some track use as well so bear that in mind as well. But regardless, for me, I would look, inspect, buy then take it to someone to change all the fluids and give it another once over, that would have saved me a small fortune 3 to 4 years ago.
  3. Not sure if you or he does facebook but there's a 1.6 xflow on there for sale, located in Portsmouth. It's in the Kit Cars And Parts For Sale/Wanted UK page and if you search xflow some are bound to come up
  4. 1992/93 standard leather seats, looking for a single head rest.Anyone have something lying about? MGB/MG Midget have been pointed to, but if anyone has something please pm me.
  5. thank you, yes have spoken to Chris, just seeing what costs are involved at this stage.
  6. got a link? edit, found it. Now all we need is a chassis to mount this on. I have started to look for a suitable S4 chassis (or is an S3 one the same?)
  7. I may have one available, let me have a look.
  8. Not sure to be honest, but I'll send you a message shortly
  9. Kester, please, I'll drop you a message/ Thanks
  10. Julian I was gutted, so annoyed but in at absolute state of shock after it happened. I was going to fly down in the end but couldn't get a flight to match the agenda. But I've had significant aches and pains following the accident that I found, come the weekend things were a little uncomfortable, so its all now formed part of the injury claim! The pictures I've seen certainly showed how the event went, very jealous. But once the car is sorted (or replaced?) then I'm making plans for various jaunts over and will be going back into Italy late Aug/early Sept to meet up with those guys. So if plans come about I shall share to all and see who fancies a run over even if it was partial distance.
  11. I'm going to keep in contact with both Pietro and Paolo for future events. Talking to Roberto, he was saying they may organise local events and share information but it will be down to others to book local hotels if they wish to attend. If we know in advance dates etc then a coordinated approach should be doable. Yes I had the head on impact with a bell in a Passat that put paid to my visit (and the car so far) but 2020, I agree with the comments above, Europ is such a great stomping ground that we should embrace these events. I'm going over next year, organised event or not!
  12. someone was selling a pair on one of the FB pages.
  13. I'm just going through the same thing, although mine is definitely a write off. No question really but we're going through the motions and just waiting on repair estimates and valuation figures, but unlike yours I'm struggling with the equivalent cars so am looking to rely on the the likes of GP sevens etc to give information. But I'm retaining salvage and we'll look to rebuild subject to actual costs OR it'll be broken up and parts sold (sad face if thats the case)..
  14. They can and this could be the route we'd need to go down however the repair is not exactly a repair, its a full new chassis that is needed as the damage is so severe. Plus I'd have to have someone do the majority of the work for me although the finishing touches I could do! Just waiting on figures etc but if we did this then I can tailer it to my specification however it will al be down to payout v's cost to rebuild. But I'll send you a BM as its good to have information.
  15. Morning Following from a very unfortunate event on Sunday pm where my 7 was totally trashed by an oncoming car, I think, as the damage is so severe I'm going to be looking for its replacement. So does anybody know of a genuine c20xe HPC 7 that could be on the market in the next 8 to 10 weeks? Now, my car may be rebuildable, and if it could be then I'd have a new old HPC which I'm fine with but the cost to build v's the insurance payout may make this an impossible route for me to take. The 7 is currently with a respected team at present and its doesn't look pretty. Mine had a high spec and ideally I'd want to replicate that but we'll see whats around when the time comes. Just thought I'd throw a post out there to see what pops up. Thank you Andrew

  20. I'd drop Jack a line and ask, seems to be a very knowledgeable guy.
