  1. that exhaust is the thing that has everyone asking 'what is it?'
  2. just logged back in, under kit car parts and cars for sale in facebook a few tend to appear for sale, I bought a few and they are reasonably priced and in excellent condition
  3. thats interesting, I do need the race wheels up front as I have AP 4 pots, the race wheel rims don't have the shoulder that fouls these when fitted
  4. Following on from my other post Anybody have a set available at all? Any condition really. Or single wheels/pairs etc?
  5. Jupiters would be good if I could find a set for the ford PCD. So the car I have is a 92 c20xe HPC on cycle wings, we got rid of the 13" anthracite 10 spokes fitted as they just didn't look right. Have gold 13" minilites at present (6 and 7x13's) but looking for options, due to the AP 4 pots up front my choice of 13"s is limited (did want to run steel wheels but they hit the calliper). I'd like some dish on these as well if possible so its now a case of seeing what comes up, I don't mind a set of say 5 spoke style to mimic those fitted to the JPE, but I think the older 7 is wheel choice sensitive.
  6. They are Taz. Just looking at the options available, I have 2 sets of 5 spoke KN 16"s that came with the HPC (my original set and another set), can't use those due to the wing stays I have on the car, also looking at the possibility of other types, maybe up to a max of 15" for touring use only, so maybe a revolution 5 spoke wheel? Ford fitting and trackvroad have just sold that set!
  7. Anybody have a set of redundant prisoner alloys that may be for sale?
  8. I had this on my last 7 and it turned out to be the windscreen fixed at the wrong angle. That 7 didn't have the quick release brackets fitted to enable the easy swap from aero to std screen and as a result the holes had gradually enlarged on one side which allowed the door to blow in at speed. I put the brackets in, problem solved as the correct mounting points were now in place. Hope that helps
  9. I share the comments made, Luke has advised, repaired and then built both of my 7's, so helpful, knowledgeable, in fact his whole team are just on point. Mind you I am biased, he is down the road from me.
  10. yes good point but i think I may have to put some time aside for this.
  11. Paul If the OP doesn't go with that, I may be interested in that screen. But I'll not step on the OP's toes until a decision has been made.
  12. Thankyou all, well I can see where I'm going to go to now! I was reading their Web page and it does sound like the way forward.
  13. I had one in my previous 7, quaife unit, yes it was loud. Loved it for competition but not so for touring! I think I may go for a stronger type 9 box, have one built as I did find the old one very positive when on track (sprints etc), but look at the options available to improve its touring capabilities.
  14. My car originally came with a 'caterham type 9 s/c with long first' gearbox. It was changed out when the car was resold by Caterham Cars 3 years after its initial build at the request of the 'new' owner and now runs a std type 9. So looking for items to return it to its 'factory spec if I can, so if it needs work, damaged etc then pm me, if not I'll look at alternatives. A nice to have really, parts in the garage until such time we can make the change.
  15. I'm looking for a single headrest, black leather for a 1992 7 with leather seats.
  16. well done because there is a set on the FB marketplace page
  17. there's loads of info and people out there that specialises in the crossflow, but today the work can be extremely expensive. I;d get it all diagnosed first to see if its head work or block (or both) then do some searching.
  18. HI Paul, yes please, I'll send over a message with my email details on. Thank you
  19. Am looking for 2x minilite alloys, 7x13, condition unimportant, and tyres not required.
  20. Anybody have a set of bench seats, squabs and back rest they don't need?
  21. your best bet is to get it running best you can then have someone set it up on on a dyno, the difference can be fairly significant. You don't want blow back through the carbs, although popping, banging and flames through the exhaust is more than acceptable...
  22. you'd feel the looseness of the car when driven if the bushes have started to fail, plus you'd get the clonks and knocks from the rear when on-off the power that gives an idea on the condition of the A frame bush. Not sure if worn bushes will be heard when stationary considering most are pretty hard to push up and down to judge any movement Most have seen some track use as well so bear that in mind as well. But regardless, for me, I would look, inspect, buy then take it to someone to change all the fluids and give it another once over, that would have saved me a small fortune 3 to 4 years ago.
