  1. I don't believe it is silly money, I know the car and the previous owner (who loves his 7's), its a well sorted VX c20xe HPC.
  2. when you say side screens, do you mean the small perspex ones or the doors?
  3. Hi all. I'm going to have a go at sprinting etc and am in need of the timing strut, anybody have one they don't need or will it be a case of chancing my luck with CC. Many thanks
  4. thank you, I was obviously looking at the wrong page. Although that looks to be a breakfast club meet up
  5. thinking the same thing, but looking on their site its saying 08th May
  6. everything is available at a price but put a list up of what you need, that'll be a good start
  7. John, if its exactly like the one on the CC parts page I'll take that from you. PM on its way
  8. I'll defer for a short while to the OP but may drop you a message later Jochen
  9. Kevin, many thanks, sorted for the moment but may send a pm across anyhow.
  10. Its the older petty strut that I need, does any one have anything sitting about gathering dust?
  11. I suffer from significant hearing loss to my left ear (years gone by, too much LOUD music etc etc) which resulted in being afflicted by meniere's (and I have tinitus in my left which can be annoying at times) although as i get older the meniere's affect is lessoning. Anyhow when the 7 came along I used plugs and a variety of different things but they either kept falling out or were unsuitable, but I soldiered on however when I got my current car, it's so loud that I had to look at a permanent solution, decided that I did like the s/c gearbox and the exhaust, so bought some 3M head/ear cans and although they do the job, I can still hear but the effect is beneficial to me. OK you can look a bit daft with hat, cans and glasses but that's the way it has to be. Always look after the hearing, once gone or damaged there's little help.
  12. No that important, dry use mainly although if I'm out and its raining, I don't want to be going off into the countryside!
  13. So I have tyre question. I will be running my HPC on its original 16" HPC alloys whilst on the road but it really needs new tyres, 205 45 16's will go on but what make? Any recommendations. Purely 'fast' road use this set so I don't need super sticky. For what its worth I do have a set of 13' wheels and tyres for track use. Looking at like for like if I can, so if you have 16's then let me know what tyres you run and how they feel Many thanks in advance
  14. one on ebay at present, 711M block, nothing to do with me though, I have no idea on the condition or spec! http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/132161874512?clk_rvr_id=1203023671399&rmvSB=true
  15. you want to talk to Neil Barker who has these organised for people, very goof they look to. Look for Barkalar (I think his name is?)
  16. I did as I'm sure they offered this between 1990 and 1998/9.
  17. The KN Super 7's are the ones fitted to the vx HPC aren't they? I have them on mine (and have a spare set!)
  18. after a half hood plus fixings, anybody have a decent one they no longer use?
  19. It does, and it explains things a great deal so many thanks for this. I have a possible issue then, as we found an exposed 'brown' wire with the sheath burnt through and the wires broken that we have no idea from where they go and where they've come from as nothing is 'not' working? You mentioning two brown wires has made me think so I'll be investigating this tomorrow. But I'll be doing something along similar lines.
  20. Kings Lynn, closer to me than you Dom, so if the the OP can get them to me somehow then we can meet up at a convenient time?
  21. interesting as my S3 needs a new screen and I was going to start looking. I'm not fussed about heated as mine doesn't work anyhow!
  22. thanks thats a great piece of info. I'd need to look at mine carefully this weekend as it is odd that this only happens when something is getting quite hot, which if the connectors are a little suspect then this could be part of the issue. Last time out I did see the rev counter flickering somewhat. Hopefully the items I'm doing will top and tail the issue but the wiring on the alternator is definitely next in line for attention. Maybe I can fit an air duct of sorts as per the BMW's etc to see if this helps at all?
