  1. Spotted yellow Caterham possibly Y reg just off the A303 as we pulled out from the services in silver mini just west of Chicklade , 6.50pm Mon 16th sept . anyone on here?
  2. This is an interesting topic re the AP or Helix here especially the conclusions reached #17 ... also mirrors my experience with the AP clutch (torque rating too low) which didn't last long. just my opinion I'd go for the helix which i got from Burton power
  3. long nose shower cap from softbits instead of tonneau, ditch the clear lenses and with the money saved all round upgrade to the JAL lights and wont cost you a penny, both companies sell top quality products
  4. sounds like there should be plenty of these engines out there then, but mostly in China. Interesting stat re the head gasket failures and that the process and casting quality were improved, just did a little search and found this Elise parts
  5. Never seen a K series casting with those extra ribs before, do you know when they were in production and which cars were they used in? really enjoying this thread some great engineering going on, how did you find the casting from a machining point of view looks really good quality from the pics you've posted...all inspiring stuff
  6. rj...I think the "arrive and drive" was maybe book-a-track, but are they going away from Caterham's now ? the independent ones I can think of are Boss racing And SW racing don't have any experience of either for car hire or what circuits they cover though. Shame the luggage allowance wont be enough to bring your own car but keep shaving those grams off
  7. Hi RJ can take some pics for you tomorrow mine also got an oil cooler behind the rad cheers Mark

  10. Yes tapered thread so done the change without sealer no oil come out when removing the old one, haven't started yet to check for leaks. thanks all for replies
  11. the thread on chitchat recently " What makes a great club? " definitely needs a link to the two topics you started for your roadside woes Anthony ... well done to the gang of helpers
  12. Can't be sure its the only place , but getting a leak from this sender so going to change for one i have in my spares (pic2) although that one has two terminals so would it work with just the existing wire in place or need additional wiring? do i need to drain the oil for this ? and what do people use on the thread as a sealer PTFE tape (is that allowed on cars) or I've used a blue gasket sealer before thanks Mark
  13. so thanks rj and Jonathan got to checking out today and turns out once i got the boot floor up all looked abit dry on the sender unit terminals so cleaned them up and we are showing the correct level again so a bit of blatchat hand holding has got another electrical problem solved,.. Cheers,

  21. Great day at Brands last week, had my problems too with a wire break to the alternator which caused lots of misfire and eventual non starting but got it back up and running with only losing out on one (red flagged) session. big thumbs up to Tim at Sevens and Classics who came over to help me and jump start my car and I know he was giving others help as well met some new faces was great to chat during the day, probably next one for me is Snetterton in August !!
