Hi Keybaud, I've passed on your interest. z7

Just the half hood plus left, now reduced to £180 + p&p. This was used with the double diagonals FIA roll bar but may also suit the single diagonal. The above links no longer work, so please post interest here. Thanks z7
  4. Quoting Dave Jackson: it would appear that the ethanol content of fuel today compromises all known previous tank repairs other than welding.I'm guessing that's what happened to mine here z7

Didn't Arch make the (FIA) rollbars in the past 🤔 z7
  8. Thanks Jonathan. Just had a chat with Chris, too, and he cleared up some other queries. Cheers
  9. Thanks, Anthony, some good ideas.
  10. Hi all, I have a Ford live axle S3 from which I'm removing the fuel tank to replace. Any tips for other jobs to do while the tank is out? Thanks z7
  11. I thought I'd post here to aid future searchers. I have a replacement fuel tank. It seems a fairly staightforward job (don't they all) but are there any gotchas I should be aware of? Any tips or advice welcome. Don't hesitate to state the obvious. It's a S3 carb tank, Ford live axle. Once I've emptied the current tank, would it be wise to leave "a period" to allow the fumes to disperse before I remove it? When fitting the sender, do I need to use some sealant, or replace a gasket etc.? Or does it simply bolt in? Many thanks z7
  12. Jonathan, 2 for me please. thanks z7
  13. Given the proximity of the gauge and switch, I'd check the dash behind them to ensure it's dry and there's no trapped water. z7
  14. Thanks, again for all the replies. Paul, fair point. If anyone can recommend a repairer in SE London or thereabouts. WIlling to travel but with my 7 being my only car, it may be a little tricky.
  15. Hi Gordon, I think Cruds has sent you BM, and I haven't managed to get hold of him myself yet. So I think we should be able to sort something. z7
  16. Gordon, Dave, I'd have similar distance issues but could do with a tank in very good condition. Are yours still available? Only after Cruds is sorted, of course. thanks z7
  17. Thanks all for the replies. Much appreciated. My first thought when I saw the failed repair was to tank out and repair or replace. A few q's re repair: What should I be looking for from a repairer? Is TIG welding the only option - should I run if something else is suggested? What would I need to do to prepare the tank for repair - washing out is mentioned? WIll I need to remove all ancillaries? thanks again z7
  18. My repair has now failed. The JB Weld has become softened, presumably by the petrol, and cracked and it's easy to pick pieces of it off. Given all the positive experiences posted above; and JB Weld specifically states suitability for fuel tanks, does anyone have any ideas why it has failed? What have I done wrong? I cleaned up the area and applied JBW directly to the tank and over the hole. Perhaps I should have used a patch of something over the hole first and then applied JBW? z7
  19. Chris, I've got the same radiator you have; fitted with this fan. One other thing to check, if you can, is that the fan is running at its correct speed / rpm, I've also emailed you some not very good pictures of my installation. z7
  20. These sites may of use: Merlin Motorsport, Trialsbits, Vehicle Wiring Products z7
  21. Hi Richard, still have nothing. Can you try again or BM please? Cheers z7
  22. Hi RIchard, thanks but not received anything yet. z7
