dave1968
Can anyone recommend a good source for a decent torque wrench?
mav
Halfords - the Professional range - calibrated too
Tony C
Draper - 1/2" drive "Bendy Pointer" type. Buying a, so called, calibrated torque wrench is a waste of time and/or money. Either check for torque information on the Internet or in 7FAQ.
mav
Sorry! Dave - the Halfords ones are good and not horribly expensive.

Member Jonathan Kay Posted October 16, 2015 Member Share Posted October 16, 2015 I need a low-range torque wrench, something like 4 to 25 Nm. Any recommendations, please?Current favourite is this from Lifeline for £25.http://www.wigglestatic.com/product-media/5360099114/image5.jpg?w=430&h=430&a=7ThanksJonathan
Mavic82
The halfords ones are a good buy, not as cheap as they used to be but still great.interestingly they are identical to and have identical cal cents to the much more expensive norbar units (apart from the colour)
Domus
Bought that one from Wiggle, £21.25HERE
Member Jonathan Kay Posted October 18, 2015 Member Share Posted October 18, 2015 Thanks, Peter. It will only have occasional use and probably mostly on bikes on fancy patent lightweight bits whose predecessors I did by feel. Would you be happy to buy the same again?Jonathan
Domus
Too early to say but it does look and feel to be good quality.

Member Jonathan Kay Posted October 23, 2015 Member Share Posted October 23, 2015 Thanks, everyone.I bought the Lifeline one from Wiggle, mostly because it comes with a set of 1/4" bits, and most of mine are 3/8". It looks fine in its smart little case.JonathanPS: What are Chain Reaction like? I buy most of my stuff from SJS, because they understand touring bikes. Second choice usually Wiggle. But I've bought quite a lot from Spa Cycles: very knowledgeable, good on tourers and old bikes, good prices and sales, but hopeless at communicating unless you're prepared to do everything by 'phone: recognise the pattern?
