  4. ended up having the old system ripped out and replaced with a new one (that works ) £140 all-in so not the end of the world and at least i can use the bl**dy thing now (if it ever stops raining of course.....) Dave
  5. Hi Mort, ta for all the info - much appreciated. I had already contacted that company - they were the ones who told me the manufacturer gone bust. I shall check your idea re aerial connection etc as a firts option, then buy a new aerial. If that doesnt work it seems ot be £150 to £180 for someone to come out and cut the old system out and replace with a new one. Dave
  6. Hi, i have the same problem with the main and the spare fob so im guessing its something to do with the immobiliser system. Is someewaht frustrating to say the least!
  7. hi thanks for that, what model of immobiliser do you have ? - mine is an Apollo 780
  8. are you referring to the car battery? If sio that is fine - lots of voltage. the fob has no buttons or batteries apparantly.....
  9. Battery is (almost) new...
  10. My K series seven has an Immobiliser which is playing up. Its an Apollo system fitted back in 2001 (prior to me owning the car)and I understand the manufacturer is now out of business.... The system works via a fob on the key ring which when in proximity to an aerial fitted round the ignition barrel *should* de-activate the immobiliser. However, recently I am having repeated problems in getting the bl**dy thing to de-immobilise even when the fob is touching the aerial. Anyone any ideas what I can do or failing that does anyone know of a reputable immobiliser expert in my area (Bedfordshire)??? Thanks in advance... Dave
  11. Hi I need to get a black pack windscreen from Weymouth to Bedfordshire in time to put on my newly painted car for my wedding early august. any help / suggestions MUCH appreciated. Dave
  12. BTT! Had an email from John re this but when i reply i get a failure notice, so John if you are reading this my number is 07768 548710 Dave
  13. hi Simon if its for the same back plate as mine then yes i would be interested. how much you looking for? Dave
  14. cheers for the tip Dan judging by the (lack of) responses it may well come to that , and will be a short term solution either way Dave
  15. Thanks for that David As I say i only really have it in mind for places like bedford (which is very close to where i live but has been frustratingly out of reach as it were as the car is at the mo). On the road i like the noise ;-) Dave
  16. hi all, been away from all this for too long.... anyway, re the above has anyone tried one? I have a R400 engine with roller barrels and wondered if this is likely to cut induction noise on my car significantly? Only have it in mind for places like bedford where they are very strict re drive by noise...my car is reasonaly quiet from the exhaust... Dave
  17. ....a change of car colour means i want to change my silver windscreen for a black one.... anyone got one for sale and / or swap? Dave
  18. Hi Andrew How much do you want for them and Im not clear if you have wings or stays or both? Dave
  19. 13" Wings and wing stays wanted (will source wings / stays seperately if necessary). Colour doesnt matter for the wings as will be re-painted. Dave
  20. Hi Paul Yes i remember seeing some conker collectors 😬 hi again! Dave
  21. Thanks all. Have changed oil and filter, improved oil pipe routing, checked o ring and sump and gasket and foam etc and all looks perfect. Still got the gauge telling me pressure drops off tho, but im more of the opinion now that its a sender / gauge problem (fingres crossed for cadwell tomorrow, famous last words etc..) I shall be fitting a better sender / gauge set up as soon as i have the chance.... Dave
  22. Thanks guys Ill go and get me 'ands dirty then! Dave PS where can i get a new O ring from???? (in a hurry) if i need one?
  23. Not sure if this is another dodgy caterham oil pressure guage / sender problem or not but ive noticed that oil pressure appears to drop off when under full power at higher revs. guage functions normally at tick over etc (ie it gives a steady reading and rises a bit when i blip the throttle etc). When cruising its steady at about 4 bar, but when i give it the 'full beans' the guage slowly drops to around 2 bar. problem is i have a track day on tuesday so wont have time to get a mechanical guage fitted etc to test whether its the sender / guage. car is a K series VHPD Y2K spec (essentially a wet sumped R400 engine so i am told by minister) with an appolo tank and also a laminova oil cooler. The engine all sounds normal and goes really well, but im a tad worried about taking it on the track the oil pipe from the bottom of the apollo to the filter take off plate has to go through a very tight turn so am wondering if that could be a problem?? any suggestions????? cheers dave
  24. Hi Stuart I have a heater that i took out of my 99 roadsport car a while back and havnt got round to selling. Its the type with '7' embossed on it if that helps?? Blatmail me if you are inbterested Dave
