Beagler
Engines out apparently had a AP competition clutch so need to replace like for like, a little xtra expense
Beagler
More probs but less expense. Tried to fit new cams but lobes foul cyl head a tiny bit. Would have meant cyl head removal to alleviate foul under each lobe. Decided to keep the uprated cams Caterham fit to bring it from a 270 to 310s. Car produced 150 BHP on dyno prior to engine removal and is estimated to still produce 170+ with planned mods. Thats an estimated 340bhp per ton which is enough for this old codger. StevehS3
Good for you to know that your engine produced its rated power before the modifications.
Beagler
Engine only done 12000 mls. Not too disappointed about cams as for road use may not have felt the benefit as I wouldnt rev it near the limit.

Beagler
Heavy duty clutch came, engine rebuild this week hope to be running end of month and then just wait for a slot on the rolling road. They are extremely busy as their reputation precedes them.

Beagler
Cars back, went for a quick blast. All I can say is Wow. 175.7 BHP at 7,700 rpm. The induction noise couple with the exhaust is like sweet music. Worth the expense and the wait.

Beagler
I had the catchcan on a bracket at the front clamped to the chassis but they have repositioned it to where the intake used to be now space is available. The aluminium coolant pipe was bespoke made. Edited October 19, 2023 by Beagler
