mechanical oil pressure gauge

Hi

I know this is a popular conversion from the electrical one. Can anyone tell me the length of hose needed to get from the present oil sender point on a 1.6 k series (SV) to the back of the dashboard gauge?.Assuming the best route into the dash area is through the large grommet on the transmission tunnel.

I used these parts from Merlin on my S3 K Supersport

1. Goodridge steel adapter 1/8"BSP X M10X1

2. Black nylon oil pressure pipe 3m. Red washer

3. RACETECH 100 PSI OIL PRESSURE GAUGE WITH LIGHT

Works really well. Easy to fit. Parts as recommended by Merlin.

Depending on source, I think the supplied lines are either 6' or 7'.  My kit (with 6' line) came from Think Auto:

I fed the line through the bulkhead, between heater and battery: 

...and covered it in nylon hose:

I've just got one of these which I haven't fit yet but hope to over the next week or two. I chose it largely because it was the closest I could get to a gauge that looked in keeping with those already in.

Agree about matching dials.  This was the best I could do to match my silver ones:

Strongly recommend upgrading the OE incandescent bulb to LED. Gives you a fighting chance of seeing it in the dark.
