At the time, I'm not sure whether the option to retain and transfer numbers was possible. I certainly wouldn't have thought to look into it, it just seemed like any other number plate.I traded the Rover in for a VW Beetle, as I was doing lots of travel to see my then girlfriend, now wife of 50 years. The car is in fantastic condition and the owner informed me it was previously owned by a member of the royal family (I didn't ask which one).
