  1. I forgot to take any photos of the unusual cars at the VSCC Brooklands driving tests, so will have to make do with a photo of the prettiest one instead

    First Track Day

I have owned my 120 Roadsport SV for 20 years now and it still has the standard engine. Track days in a slower car are great, as long as you keep checking your mirrors so you are not surprised by faster cars you can get lap after lap at full speed without catching up too many other cars 😀
  3. I have a box of these stuck to a nail in the garage so that I can pick up some each time I go out. https://www.screwfix.com/p/howard-leight-laser-lite-35db-ear-plugs-200-pairs/38688 I also got some custom bluetooth earplugs made up for long distances so I can listen to something other than the voices in my own head. I got them from https://ultimateear.com/ I have not used them enough to be able to comment on reliability. But the noise reduction and ability to listen to quiet radio while driving is good.
  4. I have found that filling the tank a bit more slowly prevents it from overflowing.
  5. The only buyer for a car like #206 is probably the local scrapyard. I am sure the owner thinks he will get round to restoring it at some point.
  6. The cost of keeping old cars on the roads is usually far higher than the value of those cars.
  7. Good point, better wait for someone who knows what the Academy folks actually use.
  8. That table shows the pressure used when measuring the tyres rather than reccomending any value to use when driving.
  9. I went with 18 cold for road and track. I found the tyres to be predictable when you exceeded the limits of grip which made for enjoyable track driving. I eventually replaced them with Uniroyal Rainexpert of the same size which perform about the same. Better in the rain, though comparison is not totally fair as the academy tyres I had were second hand from a racer so had had a very hard life.
  10. There will be fuel onsite, I would not worry about fueling the car. I find it more important to remember to take a big bottle of water to keep myself hydrated during trackdays. Have fun

    Upgrade

I think you will find the more popular method of weight reduction within the club is purchasing carbon fiber products, rather than dieting
  12. This s which imports wierd Japanese cars is worth a watch

    Upgrade

If you have a limited budget I would spend the money on track days rather than upgrades.
  14. The attention to detail of colour matching the bin bag lying on the floor really makes the photo
  15. Looks like Amazon might be able to do it
