  1. What I found worked for me was to remove the hose with the bolt in and connect a new piece of hose about a foot long (after I had raised the nose up), then I made a funnel out of an old washing up liquid bottle by cutting off the bottom and then connected this to the free end. I then supported the funnel in the upright position. This meant that when the engine was running air could still escape via the hose and funnel, however it also meant that I wasn't drawing more air back at any point in due to the head of water in the funnel. Just be careful as the coolant in the hose still gets hot. Then when the engine was cold I could tip the water out of the funnel into a bucket remove this assembly and replace the old hose. Hope this makes sense and good luck - Andy
  2. I accept an ambulance isn't that unusual however all that tarmac and they chose to park on the wet grass!
  3. An Intercity 125 has got to count as fairly unusual these days, especially on the A11!
  4. The issue I had with my 96 K-series sounds very similar. On the starter solenoid the terminal on to which the switch wire is attached is soldered onto the post that exits the solenoid. This soldiered joint had failed leaving just the interference fit between the two items to allow an electrical circuit, hence the intermittent issue. Hope this makes sense and Good luck - Andy
  5. One of customers has this Tatra in his back yard, although in fairness I think it may be a parts car
  6. Spotted whilst on Holiday in Florida, if nothing else its handling characteristics must be fairly unusual!
  7. Mine made a tapping noise on uneven surfaces from the rear I just couldn't identify. To cut a long story short after Tim Ward from sevens and classics drove the car he identified the noise a the float on the fuel level sender hitting the side of the tank.
  8. I inspect steam boilers for a living, this is one of the more interesting ones I have examined recently in a 1936 Sentinel Steam Lorry. Also in the Chaps garage was an Ogle SX1000, which he is currently storing for a friend. Not sure I've ever seen one in the flesh before.
  9. Well you can't get any more unusual than this, apparently it was in a Jerry Anderson TV show called UFO and is based upon a Ford Zephyr, Its currently under a tarpaulin in a garage just off the A12. - Andy
