Neil220
I've just bought a 1996 K series Supersport. The guy I got it from is 5'9" and told me he had the pedal assembly moved closer. He said there were 3 posistions.I'm 6'1" so would like to move it back!He didn't know how it was done and I've searched in guides and "low flying" and found any information. Could someone enlighten me please?ThanksNeil

Tazio
Take the pedal box cover off, then it should be self explanatory.
Wrightpayne
I'm 6'1" in an S3 and have the pedals in the middle position. As Tazio says take the pedal box cover off and you will see. The clutch and brake pedal are on a single shaft and have three different positions they can be in.Accelerator also has multiple attachment points but is separate to the brake / clutch. The biggest improvement in comfort for me was having a lowered floor fitted. It created space in the pedal box, got my knees away from the steering wheel and made it feel like I was sat in the car rather than on it. Neil220
Many thanks.I am completely new to caterhams ( have rebuilt a couple of mini coopers) so I can find the pedal box cover! Is there a brake light switch located there that moves when if I move the pedal? Wrightpayne
Yes, switch is fixed and a plate attached to the pedal operates the switch. Earlier cars had a pressure switch plumbed into the hydraulic circuit.
Area Representative Golf Juliet Tango Posted July 4, 2021 Area Representative Share Posted July 4, 2021 It couldn't be easier. See post #3. You will need a couple of spanners.
7 wonders of the world
Seat type and position also affect position, if you recline a Tillet with spacers you effectively move your hips forward.
Toby S
#4 and #9 - Agreed - or you may find like my 1992 car with fabric seats that the padding and the springs in the cushion have gone and you arse is on the floor anyway
Neil220
Thank you very much for the information. Does having a lower floor reduce the ground clearance or is the lowest part of the car the engine dump?
SM25T
Look at your existing floor. A lowered one sits 38mm lower. Remember to gauge it with the equivalent of your weight in the car.
Wrightpayne
The lowered floor drops you about 2 inches and it is still higher than the sump (105mm in the middle unlaiden). IIRC I've caught one of the seat bolts once on a speed bump.
