Wrightpayne Posted May 9, 2018 Share Posted May 9, 2018 I’d avoid wd40 if you’re wanting to paint afterwards.I’d use white spirit on a rag, which will remove any grease / oil / waxoil, then follow up with meths on a clean bit of rag to degrease the white spirit.I actually hoovered down between the side skins and chassis rails with the henry as there was lots of detritus.All followed up with fresh hot dinitrol.Ian Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

It’s confusingly impressive as it removes grease like pure alcohol does yet it’s water based therefore in my mind i had previously dismissed it. davejmitch Posted May 12, 2018 Share Posted May 12, 2018 Thanks for the science bit, here’s some pics of surfex hd sprayed on neat to a mixture of oil waxoil crud etc on my restoration project.
