elie boone Posted July 28, 2017 Posted July 28, 2017 Where can I find the tool to take the pins connectors out of an Econoseal plug ? want something that works rather than fiddle with a small screwdriver.
TomB Posted July 28, 2017 Posted July 28, 2017 Usually its little flat screwdrivers to press down the release clip. Ive never seen anything dedicated.
ECR Posted July 28, 2017 Posted July 28, 2017 search for this on ebay: Terminal Removal Tool Car Electrical Wiring Crimp Connector Pin Extractor Kit I guess one in the kit should work
anthony1956 Posted July 29, 2017 Posted July 29, 2017 This looks useful econoseal manwell:https://www.dropbox.com/s/x5685iht093tpvu/ENG_CS_1654365_Econoseal_0911-2.PDF?dl=0
Molecular--Bob Posted July 29, 2017 Posted July 29, 2017 Hi ElieI bought a Bergen kit that has worked on most things I have had to do. Search for Bergen B6645 , quite a bit more expensive, but feel like proper tools. Make sure you don't put any side loading on them though as they are easy to bend as they are very thin walled. Not used them for econoseal though as I rewired with GM weatherpack, so check that there is a compatible one in the kit.
Wrightpayne Posted July 29, 2017 Posted July 29, 2017 I managed to break the pad sensor plug on my Skoda when changing the front pads. Boy was that tough to get apart. The VW electrical pins have two barbs so you need 2x screwdrivers! I used two paper clips, with the ends slightly hammered flat. OK for a one off but I'd get a tool if had lots to take apart.Ian
John Vine Posted July 29, 2017 Posted July 29, 2017 want something that works rather than fiddle with a small screwdriver.Try using a jeweller's/watchmaker's thin flat-bladed screwdriver -- the job's a doddle, and works every time.I don't know of a special Econoseal tool.JV
raw Posted July 29, 2017 Posted July 29, 2017 Look for Terminal Removal Tool on Polevolts website, Ref TT99; works well and not just for Econoseal connectors. CheersAndrew
Jonathan Kay Posted July 31, 2017 Posted July 31, 2017 Thanks, Andrew. I couldn't find that.TT99 from Polevolt, £22.95:http://www.polevolt.co.uk/acatalog/TT99-195.jpgThere are cheaper things that look similar on eBay.Jonathan
elie boone Posted July 31, 2017 Author Posted July 31, 2017 Maybe the Polevolt items are a better quality ?
