Rad Fan not cutting in

Replaced fan switch due to leaking on a new radiator . Fan will not cut in on new switch . Both Top & Bottom hoses are hot so does not appear to have a airlock . By passing the switch by joining the wires together kicks the fan in .

Any advice appreciated

By bypassing the switch you've already tested the rest of the circuit.  The switch must be either faulty, not reaching it's switching temperature or not immersed in coolant.  Is it possible that there is air in the system where the switch is mounted (Possible with some installations, but I don't know what engine/cooling system you have)?

Bleed by opening the bleed screw on top of radiator then remove cap from expansion tank. Be ready to put bleed screw back in as soon as coolant appears. Top up expansion tank as necessary and replace cap.

"Yes to :  Is there a small hose connector"

It sounds like you've removed any air from there which is all I was going to suggest.  Did coolant spill out (from the rad') when you disconnected the hose?

This just leaves you with faulty switch or wrong switch then.  Either way the one you have is of no use to you.  Before you get another switch though, how sure are you about the temperature reading?
