Barry
Will it fit under the bonnet Steve?
Birkin S3 ZA.
Yes yes the only thing is the weight 6 kg it took lot's of machining to get it to 3kg but it was worth the trouble, I sprayed my block 2k silver to look like aluminum. At car shows you should hear the comments, worth every cent 😬
Neil66
Be careful.. Doesn't fit very easily... I bought one. The boss for the oil filler needs machining flush and some sort of flush / countersunk cap which kind of defeats the look a little. Also, if you're running a Raceline water rail, there's an interference with the stat housing - would require removing a lot of material... And finally, it weighs a bloody ton! So, I have one for sale for any Escort /Anglia boys out there...???

Eugene
Yeah, the weight is the killer for me... I only ever add lightness, speed or handling! 😬 😬 😬
Birkin S3 ZA.
Quoting Neil66: Clash of filler with nosecone here Clash with raceline rail stat here and here Yes my filler cap only has 6mm space for the bonnet, but a simple spacer plate 10mm thick on the outside and 20mm on the inside will angle it away from the rocker cover. It took me about 5 hours to fit mine and move the coils under the inlet manifold. Chris.
Neil66
Hi Chris - I have no problems with the bonnet - it's the nose one... It's not in place and still has a couple of inches to move rear wards - have a look at the picture again and note the position of the upper dzuz fasteners... Eta- maybe your engine sits further back... Then it would just be the thermostat housing to worry about.... elie boone
For the thermostat housing you could use a Valencia thermostat housing or a Burton elbow and go closed circuit. That is what i did. The original is only 1.5kg.

Eugene
Yeah - I've gone off the idea now... Just adds too much unnecessary additional weight, for no gain.

Eugene
Looking those images there is no way in hell that would fit in Eugene... I have about 5mm clearance at the front of the engine to nose cone/bonnet... Difficult to see, as the nose cone is off, but see: HERE Still love the Zetec though!!! 😬 😬 😬
