Steve Campbell
Sorry for these "novice" questions but ... I'm looking to buy some locking wheel nuts for my 13" alloys. Should I be going to Halfords et al or direct to Caterham ? My current nuts blush.gifwink.gifhave the numbers 12 & 1.50 on the top. I presume this is something to do with the profile of the end so that it fits snuggly with the wheel ? Comments please ? As I only bought my car in May this year, I'm very much a summer driver up to now. I now want to get some driving gloves as it's getting bloody cold. My heater's fine for the legs but I've noticed the coldest part of my body seems to be my hands ! I want warmth but also something not too thick as I've noticed by fingers catch the light switch if I try anything with any thickness. Again, should I be going to Caterham for some 'racing' type gloves or has anybody got any other ideas. Many thanks, Steve Campbell P889 GRR
Aidan Parte
I bought some rather sexy black leather driving gloves from Halfords for about £10. They do stain your hands a bit when the going gets really sweaty. Unfortunately, some thieving b@£$%*d swiped them from our Golf... left the CDs though - don't know what to feel about that! Paul R.
If you want warm gloves which are thin and with good grip I can recommend Damart. Yes I know they are the people you think of for long vests, but they do a very suitable pair of gloves. Driving gloves are about £19, but I find they are too short. The better ones are golf gloves at about £21 - just the same except they have a longer knitted cuff. Paul R.
Graeme Smith
For driving gloves you can't beat a pair of Sparco (or such like) racing gloves. All that fire-proof Nomex keeps your hands toasty, and they look soooo cool.
Red SLR
If you want a pair of top quality gloves but not too expensive get a pair of cycling gloves. No not the sort you see mountin bikers wearing but a pair of road bike gloves. They are designed to be in very cold air flow and still keep your hands warm. You will have to go to a specialist store though. Maybe try the web. X777CAT
StewartG
Yes I reckon neoprene cyclist gloves are the way to go they;re thin, very warm and come with grippy stuff on the palms and fingers.
Jules Martin
I agree with Graeme, get some Sparco racing gloves (Demon Tweeks) They are very comfortable, reasonably priced, warm and thin enough to get all the feel you will want. Only problem is that you look like a bit of a "Neard" blush.gif driving to the pub in them. Jules
tgracing
Sparco or OMP racing gloves. Then you can use them on track days smile.gif Alternatively try Demon Thieves (sorry Tweeks) for Mechanix gloves. Either way stuff them in your pockets before entering the pub. Marius
I just dumped my Spraco-gloves for some Stand21 ones which are (my view) fantastic. Main difference to other gloves is that the seams are on the outside. Looks strange at the first sight but gives a superb feeling (calm down, Anna) and you don´t get any bubbles (don´t know the word for it) at your hands after hard track-driving. They´re FIA homologated and feature soft-leather in the palm of your hand. I love them ! Check them out at the website www.stand21.com (as far as I know...). I think Demon Tweeks sells them since 2000, too. Did you say you have a heater ???? What heater ??? That´s the second unimportant item just after a passenger. Steve Campbell
Thanks for the gloves info. I'll take a look at all the examples given. Does no one have any info on my nuts blush.gif (Wife excepted) PS Yes ... I do have a heater. Bought the car 6 months ago and it came with it.... Sorry ... but I'm not taking it out. It keeps my legs VERY warm. Cheers Steve Campbell P889 GRR

Jules Martin
Anna, I'm not sure that's a question you should be asking - unless of course you're doing a poll. Jules
