  1. Is one clam of the bearded variety?
  2. Thanks to everyone for their helpful responses to the forum and by e-mail. Unfortunately, I think it will be too costly to send the car abroad and quite a bit of hassle (I'm leaving in less than 3 weeks!) ☹️. I shall keep it and use it on return visits, including Le Mans trips, etc. I may buy something interesting over in the US, perhaps even a Seven! Or a pink Cadillac...or some rubbish 'coup' with a vinyl roof and chrome bars on the side 😳
  3. I am moving to the US (Connecticut) in December and would be grateful for any advice fellow Blatchatters may have regarding shipping (logistics, costs, etc.) and importation and emissions regulations over there. My car is a 1982 1600 X-flow with twin 40 DCOEs if that helps. My alternatives are selling the car (I've had it 9 years and am not keen on this option!) or leaving it in my lock-up (my brother a friend have volunteered to take it for a spin regularly).
  4. I'll have the Brooklands screen and scuttle please! I've tried phoning, but your number is very busy. Thanks Aidan
  5. Try Clive Denham at Aryliam Motorpsort; his e-mail is aryliam@easynet.co.uk>
  6. Thanks for your all of your replies. I'll get a new battery - someone mentioned ages ago using a Renault battery, which should fit it in where the old gel jobby goes. I'll keep you posted whether this works or not. Unfortunately, I probably won't be able to take the Seven to Brands this weekend! ☹️ Tin top instead. Cheers Aidan
  7. My 1600 X/flow won't start - it has been sitting around for a couple of weeks having had some (hopefully) unrelated problems sorted out. The symptoms are these: battery (8-year old gel type) has been charged but engine will not turn over nor is there enough power for the lights, horn, etc. When connected via jump leads to another car (with engine running), the lights, etc., work but the engine will still hardly turn over at all. Help! Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Aidan
  8. Thanks everyone. I contacted Bruce at Arch, who suggested I contact Mick at Redline (very helpful about older Sevens in my experience). Sorted for about £200
  9. Has anyone got a short-cockpit FIA rollbar suitable for my 1982 live-axle Seven? Aidan Parte aidan.parte@virgin.net
  10. Does anybody have one of the above gathering dust? Aidan Parte aidan.parte@virgin.net
  11. Chris Do you have an FIA roll bar? I need one for my 1982 live axle/short cockpict car. Where are you based? Aidan
  12. xflow bits

A friend of mine (without internet access) has a dry sump kit (oil tank, pumps, etc.) suitable for a X-flow - would you be interested? It is all unused and going for about £200. Edited by - aidan parte on 26 Jan 2001 13:03:42
