  1. Snapper (Jamie), Rob's ansered the question for me. There are 4 small grommets which you can hardly see unless you are looking or know where they are. To answer your question, yes the R500 is still for sale. I think people think I NEED to sell it to pay for the JP1 so I have had some silly offers. I am offering it at an attractive price because I need the space. So the first sensible offer has it. Don't forget it comes with rollcage and half doors but I also have a windscreen, full doors hood & hood bag, tonneau etc. If you prefer a FIA bar, I know someone who will swap his FIA bar for my rollcage. Best regards, Jules I've got my JP1and I'm in love with it!
  2. Paul White, YHM. Jules I've got my JP1and I'm in love with it!
  3. Tony, YHM. Jules I've got my JP1and I'm in love with it!
  4. On the subject of spares, it entirely depends what the purchaser wants. Anything I have left over I will of course be selling, and I'll give first option to those of you who have e.mailed me with specific requests. Jules
  5. Marius, If I find any rust on my engine I know where to find you! Jules
  6. Hi Masha, To answer your question, I have not driven a Radical though have been passengered in Richard ince's SR3 which was pretty awesome. The guys at Palmersport told me (so you can believe it or not) that they had tested the SR3 against the prototype JP1 (not the corporate ones) with 3 professional drivers and in all cases the JP1 was considerably faster than the Radical (2-3 seconds per lap round the West Circuit at Bedford. The version I have has even better brakes, 38bhp more, weighs 50 kgs's less and has 13% more downforce. Make of that what you will ! Jules
  7. I might ! Steve, of course you can come down and drool, but it would be more fun to come toa trackday a have a ride wouldn't it? Jules
  8. The JP1 RS (road legal version) starts at £51k as compared to £48k for the track only version. However, as with all things good, this is the beginning. You can add at least £5k for "necessary" extras. Mine passed it's SVA yesterday and I'm picking it up tomorrow morning - YES !!! Harry, yes mine was the "customer" car at the show, - the one with no body on it but with the registration "JM 53 JAG" on the back of the chassis. Give me a flash if you see me on the roads of Kent & Sussex! Jules 😬 😬 😬 😬 ps - Harry, you say you "hate you even more now" - I didn't know you hated me in the first place. ☹️ Edited by - Jules Martin on 6 Feb 2004 10:30:43
  9. Masha, Harry Flatters link shows the corporate version of the JP1 i.e. 250bhp. The version I have bought (Palmersport are only making ten for at least a year) is 315bhp with higher downforce levels and a much more sophisticated suspension layout. It is seriously quick in a straight line but add the downforce effect and HUGE brakes, the car is awesome. Jules
  10. My R500 is for sale as my JP1 is due to arriveon Saturday. The car is Kingfisher Blue with a McClaren orange stripe round the front of the nosecone. The car is set up for Racing/trackdays but is still fully road legal (currently on SORN). It is chassis number 9 and was built in Mrch 2001. It has done 6140 miles and it has only done 500 miles since I had the gearbox and axle uprated by R&R Transmissions and Minister "refreshed" the engine,- May 2002. All receipts are available and the car is currently at Caterham where I have just spent over £2k having it fettled for sale. Originally a road car the following are also available:- Windscreen (brand new but never fitted). Immobiliser (removed for trackdays/racing. Standard De Dion ears. Spare De Dion tube. Tonneau cover. Hood & hood bag. 2 spare (painted) fron and rear wings (I bought a batch and had them all sprayed at the same time). Spare bonnet (painted). Various spares including all cables, potentiometer, wheelnuts etc. New "Freestyle" adjustable front roll bar. Spare Caterham Titanium Silencer. The car has only ever done 4 races and a number of track days. It has hardly been used since September 2002 when i went to China to work. I am looking for the best offer over £21K. Regards, Jules

  15. Billy Rudd, a JP1 is the new Palmersport car powered by a 3 litre V6 Cosworth designed, Jaguar engine. - Awesome! Pricewise guys I spoke to Brian James today. Whilst they don't do part exchanges, they have asked me to advertise it anyway and they will help me out if it doesn't sell. They suggested it was worth around £1600, but I would take a bit less than that. As I said in my posting, best sensible offer secures it. When you are looking at their price list, remember you have to add VAT to the price. A fully specced Minno today will be in the region of £2350.00. Regards, Jules I'm HOME!!
  16. Due to the fact that I have purchased a new JP1 to replace my R500, I need to buy a new trailer. My trusty Minno is therefore for sale. It was purchased brand new from BJ in May 2000. It is immaculate both in terms of the galvanised bits as well as the mechanics. It is a full spec trailer which includes solid floor (great for keeping the salt off) winch, full tyre rack, lockable jerrycan/toolbox, locking tow hitch and even a wheel lock could be available. The trailer is available immediately and is located near Lamberhurst in Kent. Best sensible offer secures. 18. I've seen this car, -it was built by a Bentley engineer and it's a great example, in seriously good nick. (Thinks, can I justify another C7?).
  19. At the end of an enjoyable morning at Brands on the GP circuit with my R500, I came into the pit garage will oil spewing onto the floor. On closer examination with the engine running it looked like there was a crack in the side weld at the bottom of the tank. Having just removed it, I found there was indeed a crack in the weld but it was the weld at the base of the tank. Has anyone else experienced this type of failure? It looks to me to be associated with vibration against the supporting plate for the tank. Jules
  20. Anyone out there got a set of R500 magnesium rims they would like to sell. General condition not impoortant as long as they are structurally sound. Jules Edited by - Jules Martin on 20 Aug 2002 15:53:29
  21. Thanks Chelspeed, You're a star. Jules
  22. I've just got a new BTB silencer for my R500 but for a myriad of reasons (nothing to do with BTB!) I haven't got the re-packing kit. Does anyone have a contact address/tel. no. for me please. Jules Edited by - Jules Martin on 24 Jul 2002 13:07:04
  23. Thanks guys, Geoff Northcutt came up wqith an amazingly detailed (colour pictures as well)website that shows how to do it. BTW Arnie, where are Redline? Jules
  24. The gaiter on one of my halfshafts is kaput. I've removed the halfshaft, cleaned it up, ground off (!)the metal part of the gaiter but for the life of me can't work out how, even if I can get one, a new gaiter can be fitted. Anyone any bright suggestions? I don't really want to have to pay £200.00+ for a new shaft if someone can point me in the direction of a supplier/fitter;- preferably in the Tunbridge Wells area. Any help gratefully received, Jules
  25. Julian, I suffer fron exactly the same problem, if you have time to make me a pair, I would be grateful. Jules Edited by - Jules Martin on 18 Jul 2002 06:17:19
