David Lynch
What is it now if Ex X-flow? What don't you like about standard brakes? Feel, locking up???? Have you got Mintex 1144's in the fronts? If not I'd start there and flat floor the DJ way.
Supersprint1988
With that user name I would suggest that it's neither a Vauxhall, a K series or a Duratec, but of course one never knows 😬 😬 Anyway,- I like the combination of standard pads rear and Mintex 1144 front on standard discs. Pads are not to expensive and discs are only £12 ex VAT. If you upgrade remember that costs of the service parts will increase quite dramaticaly. bstark
Yep - I'm with the advice above. I can lock them no problem if I put enough pressure on with that setup, and the feel is great.

Drumster
Zetec, I always ran my x/flow on standard calipers with Mintex 1144s in the front. The only thing I changed when going from 140bhp x/flow to 170bhp Zetec was the brake master cylinder, I upgraded to the AP racing one. I'm still able to lock up with enough pressure and they've (so far) suited me for sprinting as well. Going over to Mintex (if you haven't already done so) is a very cheap upgrade
Phil B
I fitted Hi-spec 4 pots with standard discs and 1144 pads. I had Princess iron 4 pots and Vitesse discs before. At the same time I moved from iron to alloy hubs and took 12lb per side off the un-sprung weight. . Suspension works much better and brake feel is fine. Graham Sewell
I used to have the standard front calipers and I would lock up the REARS first in the wet - not nice. Hence I went for the AP 4-pots in front. I may be over-braked, byt the rear drums should only give 10% of the braking anyway.

Phil B
Zetec, I used Ultralite 4 pot standard calipers and 1144 pads, paid £350 direct from Hi-Spec in Dec 2008. Phil
OliverSedlacek
I went for standard discs and Wilwood calipers,
