About This Group

Carrotland is the colloquial name for the combined Norfolk and Suffolk areas of the Caterham and Lotus Seven Club. Our members are a friendly bunch of people from all walks of life. Interests vary from track days to touring, and from the historic to the hi-tech. We meet around 7pm on the first Monday of every month at the Scole Inn IP21 4DR
  1. What's new in this group
  2. Sorry Folks, won't make this Monday as I am up Norrrfff. However will hopefully see any Carrotlanders on the Taffia Run.
  3. Steve, No email received, but so late you realised that! must need an engine upgrade as too slow. Picnic at Cromer sounds good. Ok to bring own table and picnic basket?🤣 🤣 🤣 Gavin
  4. Hi Steve, Picnic in the summer sounds good and I think your suggestion of the Clifftop car park at Cromer would be good. Plenty of space, usually, and plenty to see and visit. Cromer carnival week is 17 to 24 August, so probably best to avoid that other than they usually have a Classic and American car show that week, probably Sunday 18th (TBC) which is worth a visit. Regards Terry
  5. Hi Terry Thanks for letting me know, we are just testing the new system at the moment. Meanwhile we will continue to send notification of events via the existing email system to ensure that everyone knows what is going on. I'm glad that the system is working ok and we will let everyone know well in advance if we start to use the new system for communication to members. I'm also aware that folk in the north of the patch have a long way to travel to the meetings, this is a worry for me. We need to arrange more events in North Norfolk too and are thinking about holding a picnic in the summer. Maybe meet up on Cromer Clifftop carpark or somewhere similar. If you have any thoughts, do let me know. Meanwhile, a big thanks for your feedback, it is very much appreciated. All the best Steve
  6. Hi Steve, Noticed the bell symbol but I don't visit the site that often so a bit behind the times as usual. I do get e-mails but living up here in North Norfolk not easy for us to get down to the meetings. I don't really like driving at night these days. Best regards Terry K
  7. Hi John Thanks for letting me know, we are just testing the new system at the moment. Meanwhile we will continue to send notification of events via the existing email system to ensure that everyone knows what is going on. I think that you enabled email notifications on the area by ticking the appropriate boxes. I can see that you had already "joined" the area and must have already "followed" the area too. Well done that man, we need to get all 92 members signed up that way, then we can migrate away from the clunky LoveAdmin system. Thanks for the feedback. Steve
  8. The meeting is on the first Monday of the month as always. The date of the next meeting is 1st April. .
  9. Hi Chris Thanks for letting me know, we are just testing the new system at the moment. Meanwhile we will continue to send notification of events via the existing email system to ensure that everyone knows what is going on. There will be a meeting at the Scole Inn on the 1st April, it's already in the main club calendar https://www.caterhamlotus7.club/events and an email will be sent to everyone in about a weeks time. Hope to meet up soon. All the best Steve
  10. No email received for me. I visited here to check the Scole meeting is April 1st?
  11. As an aside… it is not just about cost for Love Admin. At some stage the current version will be expire, so we need to think ahead!
  12. Hello Steve, thanks for trying this out. I get a notification when you post a new news (blog) item, but not when someone comments here (so I missed all of the above conversation until you alerted me to it). Simon
  13. Thanks Tony The intention is to configure it so that an email is sent out to all members. Until it's working properly we will continue to send emails from LoveAdmin as we do at present. We wouldn't want anyone to miss out on anything. The Leadership Team is trying to prevent further expenditure on LoveAdmin, and this method on the new website may do the trick. Needs a bit more work though! Thanks for spotting the message flag and for sending feedback, it's appreciated very much. All the best Steve
  14. Steve, I spotted the alert bell thingy. Will lookout for more updates in future. Regards, Tony
  15. Hi John The bell alert thing is the website messaging system. The intention is to also email all members as well to ensure that nobody misses any events. It's a bit experimental at the moment! Ultimately the Club Management wish to use this method so that costs associated with LoveAdmin can be lost. Your feedback is valuable, many thanks. Steve
  16. Hi Steve, I didn't get an email, but spotted an Alert thing at the top of the page next to the messaging icon.
  17. I think we are getting closer to understanding this. Did you Both get an email to let you know that there was a news update? I added this blog to the Area News blog. If I had just edited the existing page rather than adding a blog to it, would that have the same effect? Do members need to follow the blog or is it sufficient to just follow the area Thanks for your help.
  18. Hi Steve, thanks for testing this out, Robert
  19. Anybody out there? If you got an email, could you reply? Thanks
  20. This Area News Page will be the way that Kingsley and I communicate events to members at some point in the future. Meanwhile we will continue to circulate all notifications and events by email. 🙂
