I thought i'd nip across the road into the village when you just appeared, very little time for anything but a wave. I was heading from home, just south of Shaftesbury, to Downton. I quite like barrelling along the A354 on a sunny day.... No co-pilot with me though.

Would be worth putting a piece of plastacine on the back of the diff to see if it’s knocking the dedion tube.

I’ve not trawled through all the previous posts but in my own case the clunk under torque was due to the diff knocking on the dedion tube. In the end I filed off some of the aluminium ‘vanes’ on the back of the diff which gave enough clearance. Since then no clunk. tim

Thanks Simon, Other much smaller clubs have regional associations so it would be reasonable to believe that cost would be minimal..... Tim

Although I appreciate that L7C events are covered the MSA club membership, there are other owners who wish to use their cars for other ad-hoc events, affiliation would provide additional value to club membership. There’s always debate on BC over what value is gained through L7C membership, to expand the benefits is worth considering.

Yup, after pawing through the Blue book got too long I came the the same conclusion. Strange though that L7C aren’t there. Hope to see you at CP and Gurston.

I'm filling in the application for MSATP 2019 and it asks which Association the club belongs to. As hard as I look I can't see that L7C is affiliated to any MSA Association. The choices are: ACSMC AEMC ASEMC ASWMCAm I missing something? I belong to another car club which is listed but would prefer to be under L7C. Tim

if anyone has a HANS device which they no longer use I’d be interested in hearing from you. i’m not after the Rolls Royce of HANS more the run-of-the-mill Ford. A Schroth, Stand 21 or similar. Tim

I echo RJ. I’ve previously worn ballistic glasses for short journeys but having had two large stones hit my Audi windscreen in one afternoon I’ll be wearing my Bell helmet with ballistic visor from now on.

Another source of banging is the diff against the dedion tube. Under load (hard acceleration) the my diff knocked against the dedion, v frustrating and took a while to identify. Fixed by grinding off the alloy fins on the diff to give better clearance. i also noticed that the rear brake pipe was being crushed where the diff had been impacting was dedion. Glad I spotted that. Brake line rerouted and no more knocking. Sorted!

Nice to have met you. When driving behind you I did notice your brake lights. It might be worth get GF to see if they're working, it may have just been you didn't need to touch them. (A diving technique I employ when wanting to drive faster on track!) :-)

With the demise of the Powervamp PVR22 last year the replacement recommended by PV is the PC680, this is a superior battery and therefore a bit more expensive at £98. On the plus side it fits the same cage as the outgoing PVR22. The other change is the terminal size which increases from M6 to M8 so you have to get your Dremmel out!
