  1. Danny, Caterham do a short front one for that purpose - it may need trimming to suit the duratec though.
  2. Steve, it's a standard supersport spec with the exception of solid lifters - so same power, just a bit noisier Unless it's been rebuilt inthe last year or so it wont have forged pistons in it though.
  3. If the belt looks like it's on it's way out, change it absolutely ASAP - it's very common for them to get into the cam belt when they go
  4. Mike, the Caterham race dampers clear the tube in the same way the standard dampers do, so no need for sleeves or spacers. Dave, I'd like to know too - if nothing else so that I could avoid ever buying/fitting any
  5. Dave, they do look similar to the Caterham race dampers, but they fit 'properly' without that awful, leverage multiplying bodge seen there.
  6. They work fine once they're on, but don't expect a christmas card from your tyre fitter
  7. It depends - there are 3 sizes in Sierra's, and I think 2 of those were also fitted to Granada's. There are also 2 variations on output couplings on Sierra's and a few different ratios.
  8. I have to disagree Rob - it's just as big a pain with 8". Just one more reason for not fitting them
  9. If you were happy with the balance before, then I'd stick with the same pads - they're pretty cheap from Caterham.
  10. Why not try Caterham Germany? I'm sure this is something they'll have come across before. Try here
  11. The joys of fitting Yokohama's to wide rims We have a length of hose that I sit inside the rim to act as a temporary seal in order to get enough air in to get it onto the bead. It still needs a lot of air quickly though, and a small compressor wont cut it. If stuck without a suitably large compressor, filling it with butane and lighting it often works, albeit slightly dramitcally.
  12. A 175 CR500 is at least as wide as a 185 Yokohama.
  13. The old 'race' springs were green and are 250lb front and 215lb (linear) rear. Since the shift to Eibach springs a couple of years ago, they are now all the same charcoal colour.
  14. I'd be concerned about the reliability of your rear axle.
  15. Adam: I know - I was trying to point out to EFA that a pre '96 would create worse inclination angles than a post '96. Bad choice of smiley on my part 😳
  16. Inclination will be *worse* on a pre-'96 chassis
  17. Brent, imho the 'cure' for this problem from Caterham's end would be considerably more difficult than the end user fix of loosening 2 bolts - it's not uncommon to have to do more than that to change pads on other cars. For Caterham to implement new wingstays it would mean introducing 6 new designs of stay (3 heights of each side) with the associated costs, new jigs for mounting wings, the confusion and hassle of compatibility with existing stay types etc etc.
  18. Can anyone recommend a rolling road in the south east who have experience of mapping GEMS ECU's? Cheers Stuart
  19. Good reason or not, it *does* happen. I've personally seen the results on at least 3 engines in the past couple of seasons.
  20. I've never seen it happen 'live' so can't explain exactly why it happens, but I can assure you it does - on wet and dry sumped cars (not sure why you think this would make a difference?).
  21. I think you can consider yourself lucky with the outcome - normally a destroyed alternator belt on a K will rapidly find its way into the cam belt.
  22. Charlie, try a 3/8" - it's been a while since I've come across one, but it's definitely 1/2" or 3/8".
