Decided to change the Cambelt on my 2004 1.8k non VVC.
After trawling through the Tech Talk cambelt questions I wasn't sure whether I had a manual or auto tensioner and so rang up redline who supplied me with a CDU2749 belt.
Took off the cover this morning and find I have a type B Auto tensioner fitted to the car so I now know the belt is the wrong type...so will have to send this back and get a LHN100560.
The rover manual says replace the timing belt tensioner bolt...do I need get one..??..
Finally found the crankshaft pulley bolt incredibly tight.. even with SWMBO sat in the car ,in 5th and standing on the brakes I could not loosen the bolt...will have another go later..
