  1. Use a Pure Highway on my company Hyundai I40 with a external window mount aerial and its carp. Use a Mag mount if you can find a steel point to fit it in the 7.:). But I Agree with Stridey ..I'd get a portable Dab radio for the 7 if you want. . Stevey
  2. £138 with Frank Pickles on my 2004 Roadsport SV ,3k miles, no track days and no excess.but parked in a garage.Nill accidents. Your quote then seems ok Steve
  3. Is it possible to get the RSS feeds back for the forum. Found it very useful at work and at home to check on new topics. Thanks Steve
  4. There's plenty on the web on how to use one..here.Buy a cheap one and play around with it..Watch out when you measure current as sure as eggs are eggs you will blow the internal fuse, I use only Flukes at work as I need to measure RMS voltage on high power valves and monitor voltages over a period if time but they are blinking expensive and they will last a lifetime. here Steve
  5. My speedo packed up a couple of years ago on my 2004 Roadsport. My fault was within the gearbox. Sent my speedo to Speedy cables who modified it to use a sensor off the front wheels..They set the mileage to what the old one was reading. Took 6 weeks to do so sent it off during the winter. Fitting it was a bit fiddly as I had to feed the new wires through to the speedo from the front wheel and then calibrate it..I think it was about £80 but maybe wrong..Ill have a look at the receipt later. 6. I sent mine off to Speedy Cables (after the sender on the box packed up) and they converted it to use a electronic sensor off the front wheel. Maybe ring them up and ask for the diagram showing connections. They were v helpful. I can check mine tomorrow evening if you can wait, Steve Edited by - stevethemook on 29 Apr 2014 00:09:20
  7. After thinking about this one for ages I am just about to remove the foam on mine . Will make the 2 year service a dam site easier and after seeing all the horror pictures will make me sleep a bit easier. Take care when drilling the gasket if you do decide to remove the foam. Steve
  8. My plan this Sept is to drive to Poole ,stay over night and get the ferry to Jersey. After a couple of days with friends get another ferry to France and camp in the N/W of France (to be decided ) maybe around Nantes. Then drive back to Caen and get the ferry back to the UK. Would normally travel back to Calais (maybe stay in Rouen where there are some good hotels with private parking ) and get the Eurotunnel but unfortunately I have limited time off work. Have a good trip Steve
  9. I used a pal of mine to put the copper washer onto the bolt while I covered up the drain hole with my finger.I then whipped the bolt back in. Lost very little..Obviously make sure the engine is stone cold 😳 Steve
  10. I have toured France on many occasions in mine (recently Le Mans ) and I service the car before I go and take a throttle /clutch cable,a box of tools and some tyraps . I also have breakdown insurance (although never had call to use it). Not sure where you could get the car sorted in France but if you are confident in the car I would be surprised if anything went wrong. Think the only problem I had was a water temp sensor packed up( which I ignored) and a cycle wing worked loose (which I tyraped up). Have a good trip... Steve
  11. Hi I wouldn't consider doing any puncture repair on a car. What would happen later on if there was a blowout..??. I know I couldn't sleep with the worry. Also getting the tyre off/on to the rim will be tricky. Take the tyre to be fixed..If they say it cannot be fixed then there probably is a good reason for it.
