  1. With 45s the circumference is approx. 96% of that with 50s. So you'll get about a 4% change (as gear ratios and the rest remain constant). FWIW and to aid further calculations: The 45 bit is the tyre wall height in terms of a percentage of the width. i.e. 195x45 means the wall height is approximately 45% of 195mm. You can then use maths to work out the circumference. This is only an approximate figure as different tyre manufacturers have different tolerances on the measurements, so the actual circ. can vary by a reasonable amount. It'll also change as the tyres get hotter, inflated differently etc.
  2. Checking the gap would be the first thing to do as it's much the easiest to rule out. Doesn't sound like the cause of your hassle to me though. Good luck checking where the cables go . Earths on 7s are always a pita, and you should also make sure the Stack cables are as isolated as can be. You could, of course, just leave it. Then when some little scrote comes up and asks "what'll it do mister" you can press the button and make him choke on his Chupa Chup.
  3. Electrical interference between limiter and read-out?
  4. You could get plenty enough 50s, 20s and 10s in the boot and passenger side. A 7 inspired reinactment of the Italian Job might work. Will need to therefore select a countryside bank to give us a chance against "the law" going round corners. Audi RS4 would be fine, but it's wheels would buckle under the weight of the blag and leave us in the hands of the rozzers in their Astras.
  5. Got to be in it to win it. And I couldn't be arsed. Robbery much more certain.

    Bank to rob

Preferably in the London area, little security and loaded with cash. More than 1 would be considered.
  7. Do a search for Eddie White Bob. He usually has this sort of thing on his shelves.
  8. The std 8130 is much more configurable. Caterham don't want you fiddling with all the warning levels etc. Apparently.
  9. Further to Steve's note, I think there might be two or more variations of the BTB silencer. The one I've seen (on Richard Ince's car) could house small children quite comfortably. Graham's rear exit set up seems to work though. The BTB ones also need frequent repacking AIUI.
  10. My guess would be not. But I could be wrong. Having read a few posts from earlier in the year I believe that they are 400+VAT but that BTB are open to discounts for 2 or more (I heard 350+VAT).
  11. Can't give definitive figures but quite a few guys are running the big BTB cans with good results. I'm certain they're now below 100db with the airbox and this can. When I asked I think there's a 3 week lead time. If you buy one, let me know as I might invest too (though I love it noisy) and we might get some wedge off.
  12. Sounds like a fault with the unit to me. Also found that the Caterham branded unit is quite different to the 8130 road dash you can buy in terms of config (think you were asking about the button configs a while back Julian and I gave some input). Some of my comments were wrong (though ref the 8130 they're right) and the std. set up has no fuel pressure sensor hence the 999 reading.
  13. The purple fella on Caterham's site has come down 800 quid. Now 8495 (all of their stock seems to have come down recently). I reckon some haggling would get more off. Unlikely you'd get a live axle for much less, and all because someone chose to let Lawrence Llewlyn Bowen spray it. Surely the onion peddlars would allow it on the road.
  14. Peter - in your spreadsheet have you factored in the aggro getting your credit cards changed? Thought not.
  15. Software and cables available. Unlocked MBE is down to Caterham.
  16. There was a 2l Zetec live axle car for sale a bit ago. If you have a search (search for zetec live axle blue) you'll find it and its price. Not sure if it sold in the end.
  17. Being pedantic, but were there any R500s at Brighton? There was at least one SLR, a BD and a couple of other Vx's, but I don't believe an R500 was there. Don't want you getting into trouble ad wise Still sounds like a nice package though
  18. Huge IMO. I wouldn't buy a used 7 without one and would always advise anyone buying one to ask to look at this first. Doesn't matter what plate it has on it. The sort of owner you want to buy from keeps all the papers to do with work etc he/she's had done on it. Problem is, if you're not about to sell it's more an inconvenience than something of actual worth. I had a dealing with a removals firm recently who "lost" my belongings. Said they'd been shipped abroad and had been disposed of by the recipient etc. Told them to send people over to check, the whole 9yds, no dice. We put in a massively detailed claim that amounted to a not inconsiderable sum and lo, the "lost" items were all found within a few days. Come up with something plausible - say the difference between historied and non-historied cars, adding credence to your info by getting an idea from Caterham and other sales places - and present it to them (could easily be 500-1k I would guess). I reckon that they'll find it given adequate prompting to tunr their place upside down.
  19. Zak - is your car a deDion (age and model will give some clues)? If it is, the wheels won't fit a live axle car. I'm pretty sure std. Prisoner wheels won't fit a live axle...
  20. Mike - they might fit but wouldn't be ideal owing to the sleeved design of the R500 nuts. You should be able to get std. nuts from the place you get your wheels, or Halfords etc will have them. Or if you wanted to be really flash, I have some gold anodised lightweight ones that would fit that I'd sell you (can't use them with R500 mags). I'm pretty sure I have 20 of them and would flog the lot for 50 quid (they cost a good chunk ore than this).
  21. I also think F1 regs don't permit the use of anything other than a V10 at the moment, with presumably 'V' meaning the angle must be <180degs (think Renault are using 120 or something, for the reasons you note, but reliability was a hassle at first).
  22. It means "a little" Joachim.
  23. Now there's a photo opportunity Kiss and make up guys. If the parts are good I'm sure it'd save arnie a load of hassle too? (Note I've seen parts from both sources, not side by side though, and both looked very good to my untrained eyes. (The crash picture was a tad unfair ).
