  1. Nitrons have round holes, they are 6mm, so I use a 6mm drill bit My Billies had slots, so not sure which dampers you have, not sure about AVO's
  2. You can get Nitron to supply either, through the tube fitting or underslung. I went for through the tube

    Tyre Confusion

Used to run 32's then went to 48's, never had a problem, they were fine for the road. Just need to be aware of standing water. Now using CR500's they seem good as well.
  4. I've got a set of M0 Billies with adj platforms that haven't sold yet, so drop me a mail if your interested
  5. Can half doors be fitted with a caged SLR cage and if so, can they be taken on and off, also will the tonnau still fit, so there is some protection when trailering etc
  6. The hex bolt will only bolt in so far, before it is fully home, unless I've got bolts that are too long. I've used an allen key with a ring spanner every time so are 😳
  7. I normally wear and one piece motor cycle rain suit.
  8. Don't know what your talking about Thanks for the spell check Edited by - Casbar on 22 Oct 2006 16:14:24
  9. Its ok Martin, I'll be around to bring the bits back in my van 😳
  10. That's ok, I was just being pedantic as I'm bored and it's pi**ing down Edited by - Casbar on 22 Oct 2006 16:13:40
  11. "The drive by accelerating from 4,000 to 8,000 on the side of the exhaust was 105dB. Hope that info helps" I think you may be dreaming if you think your engine revs to 8000, try hard rev limiter at 7600, or do you have a non standard R300
  12. My race rad sprung a leak, I took it to a rad repair chap in Andover. He said it couldn't be repaired ☹️ But he did mention that the price for a new one is worth it as he couldn't make one as good for less money.
  13. Trouble is, I want an engine that I can thrash the nuts off it, on the track and some road trips. And I want it to be reliable and not need a re-fresh very often. I don't want much do I At the moment I have done 7000 miles ish with my R300 engine, which included Le Sept and 5 trackdays this year, plus some road miles, so I guess I should expect something to break soon. It is dry sumped, but I don't want to upgrade to a higher power K, if its going to need a grands worth of re-fresh every couple of years.
  14. Jonny mentioned the engine was towards the end of its rebuild cycle. I assume that higher tuned engines need to be re-freshed more often, does that follow that a 2 litre will be able to do more miles than a 2.3, or is it just that Danny's engine is right at the top end of power
  15. John, Depends how much you want to pay for the platforms, I'm not that attached to the shocks, but I'm also not desperate to sell, plenty of time as I already have my Nitrons on
  16. Why not ask Caterham aftersales, or if they don't know phon Eibach Uk
  17. Side repeaters won't be an issue, but I suspect emissions maybe. If the car was SVA'd and is just 3 years old, then it must have had a cat fitted, therefore getting through without one will be difficult. I would get it tested first if you can, as I believe, (could be wrong on this) emissions don't fall under the re-test category, therefore it will cost you for another full test when you go back. Also, my MOT station informed me that, now the MOT is computerised, once you fail, the car is off the road, as its listed with DVLA as a failure. So you will only be able to drive the car back to the MOT station for a re-test if needed ☹️ This they told me is even the situation if you still have a current MOT running, so getting it MOT'd early seems a bit of a risk now.
  18. If your going to take the wishbones off the car, you may want to take the opportunity to re-bush them at the same time. I got a local garage to press out the old bushes and put the new ones in
  19. If they are too expensive, someone can make me a sensible offer Adj platforms on their own are £170 odd new ☹️
  20. Set of M0 Bilsteins, for narrow track. 2 x front springs 275llb new, 2 rear springs 160llb 6 months old. Springs are Faulkner. Rear dampers have an extra groove cut for the platforms. Dampers off a 98 Roadsport - £150 plus P&P Edited by - casbar on 3 Nov 2006 10:44:56
  21. Taken from Dave Andrews web site, who has plenty of knowledge on things K. "The R500 engine uses roller barrel throttle bodies which minimise obstruction and drag in the inlet tract, these represent pretty much the ultimate in induction systems but are pretty expensive, Below is a photo which shows them in situ" I suggest you give Dave a ring or mail him and ask him the question, rather than armchair therorists
