  1. I have the leather S type seats, which I assume are the same pattern. The Head rests should just pull out. Although if you have the seats all the way back, the headrests may foul on the roll bar. So move the seats forward and pull straight up. Hope this helps, Robert
  2. Graham, I just did the front discs, as the majority of the braking is on the front. Weight transfer and all that stuff! Robert
  3. Hi, Has anyone had any experience of the Richard Longman Co, rolling road in Christchurch, Hampshire. Rgds Robert
  4. I was less that impressed with my brakes. I was advised me to try new pads, then lightly rub the discs with emery cloth to take the glaze off. I fitted some pagit pads and carried out the remedial action. The brakes are a lot better now. Failing that, change the front brakes to 4 pots if you don't already have them fitted. Rgds, Robert
  5. John, I followed your traumas with interest, as I am considering swapping my rear exit exhaust for a comp one on my X-flow. What dampers did you eventually go for? I have the spax dampers on my car, but the ride height can't be adjusted. The measurement at the rear wheel arch seems to be around 145 to 150mm. The springs at the rear are soft, according to a couple of chaps at Le Mans, after lots of pushing the cars rear end up and down and sharp intakes of breath. I've considered buying the Leda shocks from James Whitting. Rgds, Robert
  6. I bought mine from Demon Tweeks by mail order. Robert
  7. I run Good Year 185 13s on a live axle cross flow. I generally go for 18lbs all round. Robert
  8. Nick, Large is my middle name Robert
  9. I took my live axle with 13" wheels and Spax's, on the Le Mans trip and managed to ground it 3 times. The last being over the speed bumps outside the passport check out in Portsmouth. Luckily, the sump survived to fight another day. Robert
  10. Can you email me a contact number, so I can discuss with you. My email address is Robert.Smith@Infobank.co.uk Cheers, Robert
  11. Has the exhaust gone? Rgds, Robert
  12. Sorry, I'm obviously being a "plonker" couldn't see the woods for the trees!!
  13. Hi, Great forums! Would it be possible to be able to search in the tech section. This would make it easier if looking for specific info. Rgds, Robert
  14. I've heard that there are some pretty bad rolling road operators around, so before I hand over my seven, I was wondering if anyone had any personal experience of Richard Longmans rolling road in Christchurch. Tks, Robert
  15. Nick, My mate has just blown his gearbox on his x-flow. If you are willing to sell either of the boxes seperately can you give him a call. He doesn't have access to the net. His name is Chris, number 02380 870832, Tks, Robert

    Front Brakes

Thanks, The Alcon kit is sold as an alternative to the AP kit and work out about 80 pounds cheaper. I think I'll give them a shot. Robert

    Front Brakes

My Seve is a 91 Live axle with discs on the front and drums on the rear. Its been regularly serviced, but I feel that the brakes could be better. James Whiting advised me to maybe upgrade the front brakes with his Alcon Brake Kit. I was wondering if anybody has fitted one of these kits, and what difference it made. Is it worth £500 plus. tks, Robert
  18. I purchased a luggage carrier from James Whiting. It fits over the spare wheel, and allows you to carry luggage. I also read in one of the old listings that you can lower the floor of the boot by a couple of inches. I'm not sure if this only applies to a live axle car though! If you carry your hood in the boot, transfer it to a hood bag, which sits behind the seats. Rgds
  19. If it takes you 5 mins to put your full harness on, you should try using both hands, it will then only take 2.5 mins.
