  1. Hi Graham Thanks for arranging this. Please can you put me down for a place. Roger
  2. Well done Simon and thanks for all your hard work.
  3. If you get lost the paddock is at 52 degrees 1 minute 12.40 seconds North and 3 degrees 35 minutes 39.14 seconds West. I fed this into my sat nav last year and it found it perfectly. It is a beautiful spot but it is very remote.
  4. Worth trying the local van hire companies. When my son was in this position he managed to hire a transit van with a tow bar. They even supplied the correct number plate!

    Epynt

I don't know if it has a post code as it is miles from anywhere but the start is at 52 degrees 1 minute 12.40 seconds N, 3 degrees 35 minutes 39.14 seconds W. The instructions teel you to leave the A40 at LLywell and it is then about 20 minutes across open moorland. Mind you don't get shot on the way. I hope this helps Roger Edited by - RogerL on 1 Mar 2012 15:03:06
  6. I am also looking forward to next year and having had a look at the Hagley and District Motor Club site they are showing us competing at Loton Parkon Sunday, not Saturday as this year. "11th & 12th August..2 Nat B one-day events featuring ANWCC, (both days) Austin-Healey (Sunday), Bugatti (Sunday), Lotus Seven (Sunday), Chester & Liverpool (both days), Longton (both days), TR Register (Sunday) and TVR (both days). " This would appear to make for a very busy Sunday and a very empty Saturday. Can we assume that this is a typo and that we should be competing on Saturday?
  7. Hi Ammo and Pendennis When you say the Titan settled down after a while how long did this take?
  8. Joking apart I have tried timing myself this morning and my best time was 9 seconds with the seat belts off and I do not have a roll cage. ☹️ Reading the regs we will have to get out in under 7 seconds and remove the seat belts, all with a helmet on!
  9. 13th or 14th July Preferred
  10. I am also interested subject to the date being suitable.

    Oulton 2011

I am definitely interested depending on the date.
  12. Excellent! They now appear at the top of the results. Thanks Rob
  13. I have discovered that using my lap top with Internet Explorer 7 the results appear above the 2010 results, i.e. at the top of the box. On my desktop using Internet Explorer 8 they do not appear at all. I hope this helps.
  14. Ray Thanks for your help but on the home page there are only lists of the class winners and a reference to the competitors tag to obtain the full results. Rob's post also refers to this tag to obtain them. When I go to this tag they are not there! The drop down menu box only contains results up to 2010. I have tried refreshing the page (both hard and soft refresh) but they still do not appear. Roger
  15. I am having trouble finding these results. I go to competitors corner and the drop down box contains information about results from 2006 to 2010 but no results for 2011. I have searched the competitor's corner page but I still can't find them. I don't know if it is just my machine or other's having the same problem?
  16. Hi Kevin I was in number 16, black with stone chips Thanks Roger Edited by - RogerL on 17 May 2011 10:09:53
  17. As there was nothing in the post today and I am likely to be heading West before the post tomorrow I guess that I will not receive final instructions. I have not been to Llandow before so can I assume that I just turn up between 7 and 7.30 in the morning on Saturday?
  18. I am sorry to bring this up after all your hard work but you seem to have calculated the positions based on the practice times rather than the event times.
  19. I have entered so there will be at least two of us in class2.

    Anglesey Dates

According to the dates in Whats On/Speed Championship the Anglesey dates have moved to the 15th and 16th October. Is this just a typo or have they actually changed?
  21. For what its worth my experience of ZV3s on track are that they suddenly let go. As a result I have spun several times. This is probably my driving but I lost confidence in the car when I had them. Since I have replaced my ZV3s with A539s I seem to be able to catch the car much more easily. I have found the A539s to be much more predictable. All I have to do now is to find out how to go quicker!
  22. I would support Mike's idea of a competition for senior drivers, for example those who can present a bus pass. We have a Novice Trophy and a Ladies Trophy so why not a Senior Trophy. Roger
  23. Please book me a place for Saturday night. Thanks Roger L
  24. As this thread seems to be developing into a general discussion I thought I would add my thoughts about the championship after my first year. The thing that attracted the speed championship to me was that I could compete against road cars of similar performance to my own. The club sprints often provide classes of very unequal machinery so it is difficult to know whether the best car or driver won. I have really enjoyed the events I have attended and the experience has shown me how far I am behind the best. I am probably too old and grey to win the class but I will enjoy trying to get as close as I can. Perhaps there should be positive discrimination towards pensioners. I was put off entering last year (my first year of competition) by the location of the events. From Ipswich I would have to drive over 6500 miles to attend all the sprints and most of this is not on motorway. When I do have the luxury of motorway it is generally the M25 or the M6 around Birmingham. It would seem that the events are almost exclusively on the West of the country. We have Snetterton and Hethel (currently being upgraded) in East Anglia and slightly further afield Brands, Lydden and Cadwell Park. I am lucky enough to be retired and I have the time to travel but it might encourage more entrants if one or more of the events could be held in the East.
