  1. You need sixspeedmanual, who butchered mine when we did the same, don't ask me what he did as I was traumatised for weeks after. It did run first time though. Seriously if you have the 5AS that goes with the ECU, then you should be able to swap them over together, I had to get my 5AS matched to the new ECU. As for the wiring, it wasn't too bad, a logical tracing of the wiring on both sub looms is essential. Good luck, it's def worth it.
  2. On the look out for a pair of the above A021s, my 2 on the front are done, the rears are good for another year or two. I'm reluctant to mix tyres front to back, so just on the off chance anyone has a pair? Must be E marked for the road of course. Thanks
  3. Late call I know but yhm.
  4. I checked mine on our PMMB to Southwold, 38 mpg, and we weren't hanging about. Assuming odometer is correct of course...
  5. Actually on a blue Exige, may be a past member? Spotted while digging the spuds on the alotment.
  6. How did you get the buggers out? I need to do this on mine, and I'm not sure the right way to approach it.
  7. If you do have to get new hoses made, make sure they use the right hose material, my first set used thinner walled material, and when bent to a tight radius they kinked. They did make at nmo cost after a bit of a discussion!
  8. Agreed, shame I didn't look closer before I took the seats out. Still had to take the wings off to get the bolt into the upper holes though.
  9. I've had all this area off today as one of the bolts sheared yesterday after the blat. I found out the arms were in the lower "race" position rather than the upper "road" set. I have one bolt left obviously and it only goes in from outside I've put it in both the upper holes. All holes are threaded, you'll have to trust me on this as I can't upload any pictures, partly due to image size and partly due to operator error. I plan to refit the arms in the upper position when I get a new pair of bolts. Would the fact that it was an academy car in 2001 explain this variation?
  10. Thanks Jonathan, but now I've disassembled a bit looks like I need a standard bolt as the hole is threaded, they do say that everyone is different.
  11. Can anyone advise of the correct cap head bolt size for the radius arm forward bolts to the chassis? My workshop manual refers to a fixings pack ZRS21, not much use now!
  12. Thanks everyone for your comments and requirements. I'm away this weekend, and I'll aim to contact all the interested parties over the next few days to finalise matters. The thread is now closed.
  13. Are you sorted on a trailer Will.i.are?
  14. I've put so much plus gas on them I've almost run out! Thanks Peter I'll be in touch soon.
  15. Gents I have been advised of an alternative, if anyone wants to know more email me via blatmail, kind courtesy of whatsup (Frank). Peter
  16. Ian, I have emailed him with my phone numbers, no reply from him, so if you know him then give him a nudge.
  17. Peter The only way is to phone them up, like I said, their website is less than crystal clear, and you need to talk to them to be certain of what you want. Smiffy, ok as a maybe, but I will be closing this off by 10 April as I have an urgent need for a kit to save Mrs Peter G's hearing and consequently my blatting ability.
  18. Thanks chaps, mines a 2000 c ar so an old imperial one, Graham I'll give you a call, but it won't now be btill after the weekend. Copious quantities of Plusgas have been squired all over these little blighters,so fingers crossed they come out nice and easy.
  19. Chaps, can someone advise of the allen head socket size required for this cap head bolt, I've tried a 5.5mm loose allen key in there, a good fit but not perfect, but wonder whether it's an imperial size as a 5.5mm seems to not be readily available? Thanks
  20. I've been talking to Starcom/Autocom and they have offered us an additional 7.5%, on top of the usual club 10% discount, provided 10 sets are ordered at once. I'm happy to collate the order, but as the options are numerous on the kits, I won't be acting as the go between, so if you are interested, phone up Starcom, and decide what you want, standard or digital hub, bluetooth or not, peltor style or helmets sets, fitting kit etc and let me know what you decide. with the full price of your selection. Please put a note here to let me know and email me at petergno101 at gmail dot com I'm putting a short cut off on this as I need to get my set ordered inside 2 weeks and may forego the additioanl discount, so expressions of interest please by 10th April at the latest please. If there aren't enough people interested then the deal probably won't go through, but worth a try. Starcom webpage here http://www.starcom1.com/ And kit details here; http://www.starcom1.com/kitcar-handsfree-systems.html Peter
  21. Hey Mr 6speed. May sounds good, ain't seen you for a while are you busy?
  22. You can get loads of bits from Rimmer Bros, but it helps to know what you're looking for., VVC head should lead you to it.
  23. Chaps, I too had this problem when I fitted a vvc engine, in fact it wouldn't fit even with the correct engine mount, I had to get the plenum adjusted to clear the bonnet. The new mount lowers the engine by about 20mm I recall. I'm about to fit adjustable platform billies to jack it up a bit (I'm on 13" rims) as the sump has kissed a couple of cats eyes already. I aim to get the lower wishes level and go from there, any improvement on what I have now will be a good thing, the I'll be round to Mr 6speeds to aim for a flatish floor.
