  1. I don't know but the concept of having tjreaded bushes does hold an appeal as it would allow the rear supension links to be removed with the seats in situ.
  2. I agree with the responses above. Pete, does your show a nyloc nut to the outer side of the radius arm bush under the wheel arch?
  3. Does Dartford Composites still exist?
  4. The CR500 developed for and with Caterham. The ZZR/ZZS designed by Avon for a much wider general range of trackday weaponary sportscars tintops etc...
  5. It's the water which forms an opaque emulsion with the oil. This is what you get in your sump if you do lots of short, non warmed up engine journeys. Try warming your gooey sample and the water may escape leaving something looking more oily. Just sd a curiousity, mind. Not to do anything useful with the oil. Except creosote a fence...
  6. Pity the "trackday kit" never cam to fruition. Some of the concepts such as the front mudguard design did make it on to the CSR.
  7. And the other elegant thing is that the alloy top collar covers the snap ring to stoo it having sny possibility of jumping out but also if it is not correctly seated the alloe collar could not be putin place. Peter
  8. I just saw your location. Beds to Surrey along M1/M25 is fairly grubby.
  9. It's a bit of a fallacy that higher nose weight can be a cure for snaking. It is the moving of weight forward which increases the natural resonant frequency (shorter pendulum) which keeps the car and trailer out of phase. The act of moving weight forwards has a side effect of increasing noseweight.
  10. Nose weight not really an issue due to a) 7's far back CofG and b) the very lightness of it. Most cars can take a heafty 75Kg or more.
  11. Short pendulum length - higher natural oscillation frequency - less likelihood of getting into a resonant harmonic cycle of swinging (snaking). Of all the cars I have trailered, the 7 is the one which sets the trailer CofG furthest back causing it to be more prone to low frequency oscillation.
  12. Get it as far forward on the trailer as possible.
  13. Correct. clean seal surfaces with 800 grit emery paper to de-gunge them/remove anything foreign or corrosion. Clean off thoroughly. I recommend a very thin smear of grease on the seal surface to provide initial lube until oil splashes inside and to help shaft slip in when fitting.
  14. I've just sold off my recently purchased ZZR and gone back to CR500. Welcome back to ability to handle pattery broken surfaces, ride quality, turn-in and grip a plenty. Not having any empirical measurement of cornering power between the two, but the nose turns i to corners a lot more willingly on the CR500s. Steering lighter, more pricise and better mid-bend adjustability.... Yumm :)
  15. Full screen, no sidescreens is an uncomfortable blustery place. Go aero!
  16. For any long tow, even in dry, better to put on tonneau or hood or the cockpit will get very dusty.
  17. For 150 hp, 175x13 CR500 all round would be very nice set up.
  18. Many tyre balance machines have options for weight placement including rim centreline.
  19. Hi! T'was me on my way to ScotBlat '15. 1350 miles of best roads in Britain including some glorious weather and fab scenery!
  20. Same. Anything else can flap and grind your paint.
  21. Very little! There is only about 1mm clearance on either side before it stops out on the bracket on the deDion tube. Sometimes there will be race shims filling this clearance. Is the nut and bolt tight? They have been known to work loose.
