Side mirrors wide angle single convex glass. Centre mirror wide version, flat glass. Screen 229g Side mirrors 2x 128g = 256g Centre mirror 218g Fixings 2 x 9g = 18g (allen button head screws in steel - you can save weight here by using slightly shorter and/or aluminium screws in this non load-bearing application) TOTAL 721g This little lot from Caterham costs nearly £900 and currently showing not in stock. 9. SOLD Thanks for your kind/cheeky comments! Peter
  10. Hi Blatchatters After a substantial pause for thought, I have decided to sell my much enjoyed R400 Superlight. It is time for me to pursue other car interests. I've been enjoying doing things with a few iconic classic cars. Also I quite fancy a go at a different kit car which is less "sacrosanct" than a highly original R400K, allowing me freedom on the "I built it my way" front. Quickest way for you to see the car is link to Pistonheads advert: https://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/caterham/all-models/caterham-7-r400/9786345 All the best Peter
  11. You can many years of needle replacement for the outlay of c. £1K.
  12. Yes indeed! And my 7 is now up and running after being caught up in a queue of other cars needing attention. Blat?
  13. The gouging of the inner rim of the rear wheels can occur from road grit momentarily trapping and scraping between the deDion ear and the rim, even if the eeights are not in the firing line. The scrape gives the clue as to where not to place the weights. Obviously it is not just the tyre which effects balance but the rim too. Some rims start life out of bslance. Others get knocked out of balance through life service. I couldn't help noticing on one of your photos that the scrape mark does not appear to be continuous, suggesting a somewhat out of round rim or relationship of rim to mounting face is squint. This will require more weight to be applied to dynamically balance tbe wheel when rotating.
  14. Roade Main Garage 01604 862262. Taken my 7 there for all 8 MoT times to date. Never had any issues, complications or exceptions. Same for all my cars over last 16 years. Peter
  15. Have you tried BMTR? What is the current situation? Peter
  16. Or Arch can do all/any of what is required. Just a question of how much time they will need to spend on it v you and consequent cost.
  17. Nice to see a seven year old thread still providing value. The whole thrust of my story was that the bearing IS avaiable on its own, even nominated a source, without getting ripped by CC for the unnecessary higher assembly. Other sources could be even cheaper but Road and Race were convenient and posted to me next day.
  18. In cold weather I run two strips of gaffer tape across bottom of radiator grille. Keeps coolant temp more in 70-75℃ whilst going along. Oil temp most influenced by power demand when lots of heat goung through pistons and revs where much higher oil circulation going one. Try driving it harder! :). Peter
  19. Not much help, just a comment. I recall there generally being a long and a short format available. I'd be most surprised if long not available now as there must be hundreds of classic cars using them. (SAAB V4)
  20. I find Gunson's Eazibleed very effective for flush through fresh fluid or for bleeding a system which has been drained for whatever reason, or freshly rebuilt. Just do not use the bottle reservoir to carry extra fluid into the system. If you get an air leak you will have a big mess!
  21. Mankee You can't put that badge on your car as it will affect adversely the power to weight ratio! Good thing Revilla wants it. Peter
