  1. Fantastic ! Enjoy! Already seen the updates on your blog! Have fun bonding together! Bet your next question will be how to get the shock absorber top bolts in!
  2. Ok Marcus, no worries! Enjoy your trip out! Will hopefully see you some time in the future for a spotted!
  3. In might be out and about too Marcus, perhaps we should try and meet up so we can at least give each other a spotted, no one ever spots me either!
  4. How exciting! Colour looks great too! New kit delivery is always a good day! have fun going through all of those boxes! Enjoy.
  5. I have just picked mine up today, looks fantastic, probably should wait until Tom comes home from school so we can build it together !
  6. Spotted you this morning as I was heading from Wythall and you were driving down the road past Davies timber heading to Becketts roundabout, roof up too which was wise with the downpour we had minutes later.
  7. Hi Stu, thanks I did think it might have been someone heading to the mid staffs meeting! if I had been more organised I could have made a detour to visit you guys.,
  8. Spotted you coming into Lichfield at about 18:45 tonight as I was leaving, waved but you might have missed me. Did not spot the reg sorry!
  9. Yep I would like to know how to get back the views count too please. could we have an update and actions please Shaun thanks.
  10. As a comparison my previous R500 was 99% of the time filled with Shell Optimax, and always ran fine. On one trip to Northern France, where a lot of the gas stations were closed on the Sunday, we were forced to fill from empty at the only open Total garage we could find, and they only had standard unleaded. My car ran like a complete dog all that day, including flatspots, stalling and taking an age to start. When we got back to Dover, I immediately stopped and filled up with She'll Optimax, and after a few miles of running the problems all went away. Of course it could have been poor quality, or dirty fuel, but I never went back to standard unleaded again. Once you car is on the road Marcus it would be worth a quick test with half a tank of 95 to see what happens as the guys have suggested.
  11. I noticed exactly the Same thing some time ago. I Can only see replies, the number of views has completely gone whether I am logged in or not. Same on any device too, make no difference if I'm on my iPad or MacBook Pro. Would be nice to see the number of views back please!
  12. Sounds like something electrical Tom. I would be looking for a short from the main high current +12VE out of the alternator to the starter motor. When I built my Superlight Twenty back in March this year I was surprised that the cable at the back of the alternator does not seem to be protected by the rubber cap. I modded mine to make sure it was not so exposed. Other things to look for are battery and chassis earths, at the engine mount. As you had recently done and oil and filter change, it could be that you disturbed the +ve cable from the alternator to the starter motor, but it might have been loose from the build and moving it during the oil change caused this issue. Hope that helps. Nigel.
  13. Was on my way to drop the boys off at PGL in Swindon, and saw you heading out of Swindon, not sure about the Reg no was hard to see, lovely sunny day for a Caterham Blat though!!
  14. Great thanks for the spotted Stuart!
  15. Hi Mrp, yes I did get to the club stand, had a cup of tea and a chat, but then went off to see the cars and stuff and get some photos. I was kindly given my ticket FOC for Sunday, so did not get the chance to get an infield pass, so could not park on the club stand. I did try to blag my way in at the gate, and they were kind enough to let me park in the VIP area right at the main entrance gate. I intend to come for Friday and Saturday next year and camp too, so should be able to get on the club stand next year.
  16. Yep I think it was me then Stuart, I did have my dark green Team Lotus jacket to too, and yes of course Aeroscreen too! Amazingly after having owned 5 different Caterham's in the last 20 years this is my first ever spotted on here!
  17. You sure it wasn't me in my Superlight Twenty? I was there at exactly that time,,my reg is V20 UFO , but it's not green, just bare alloy and black carbon. Lots of people were waving at me on my route back from the Silverstone classic today.
  18. Great feedback so far, thanks for all the comments. I shall be feeding this info back to Simon at CC, so is there any other comments, or specific requests that anyone would like me to pass on? Thanks in advance.
  19. I should reckon you will have access to the full and complete build manual by November, so you will be well sorted for your new build with a shiny new fresh off the press manual too!!
  20. If your like me, you probably look here more than chitchat, but Daniel French has posted this, so I'm a,so posting it here too. http://uk.caterhamcars.com/sites/default/files/content/assembly_guide_beta_v1.0.pdf
  21. Can't comment of the passenger side, but to me it sounds like the issue is with having an adjustable runner on the passenger side. on my recent twenty build, with the 620R Tillets, they really were very easy to fit, but have the aluminium box section for the passenger side, so fixed. Oh and you can still, get the alloy box section parts too, as I just ordered from the parts site, as I don't like the adjustable heady steel things, so I am fitting them to my drivers side.
  22. Ian, no your correct, it's not too loud with ear plugs in, but still very noticeable even when you do have your ear plugs no for longer journeys. However at the moment most of my trips with the kids are quite short journeys, so I don't bother with ear plugs. One of the reasons for this is the sigma engine in my car is not noisy at all, in fact the whole car is one of the quietest Caterhams I have ever owned, hence the issue with the bleeper being so loud and distracting. Even without the bleeper, the two little turn signal Led's in the Rev counter are pretty bright, so I do t think I will forget to cancel them!
  23. Right an update for you all. After days of searching,,removing switches, gauges, feeling and poking I was ready to give up. Then a very kind man called Darren Cheesbrough sent me a message, and said he found his behind the speedo. So I popped the speedo out, turned on the indicators and there it was. No wonder it's so hard to find, it's tiny , smaller than a five pence peice. Can't decide if to tape it up or just cut one wire, but I am very relived to have found it! heres the little bleeding bleeper!
  24. I had a similar experience with new wheels and tyres supplied direct from Caterham for my R500. The balance weights were put on the same inside edge as in your picture, and as a result they fouled on the edge of the de dion tube, and actually got knocked off. The scoring on your picture, looks like it's actually been done by something on your car, perhaps even the dedion tube similar to my problem above. I recently had some new zzr tyres fitted to my 8 inch rear wheels, by BMTR in Birmingham, I asked them to balance on inside of the wheels, and they did just that, fitting them close to the outside edge of the wheel. I suspect you need to get them refitted as the weights in the edge will most likely foul as mine did.!
  25. Sorry for the thread resurrection from over 10 years ago, but does anyone have any pictures of more detail on the beepers location? Its been driving me crazy of my new Superlight Twenty, it's getting to be so annoying I am trying not to use the indicatiors at all, so it needs to be silenced! As per this threads, and advice on Pistonheads too, I have searched for the beeper all under the dash but can not find it anywhere. i have taken the Rev counter, speedo and washer and wiper switches out, as some people say it makes it easier to locate it, all to no avail. Its made harder by the fact that the noise is so high pitched, it seems to come from everywhere under the dash, but not a place that's easy to identify! So if anyone has any tips on how to find it, or silence it any way, they would be most appreciated.
