  1. Hi Everyone, Sorry for not responding sooner, for some reason I don't get notifications from blatchat. I have now responded to all the people who have sent me message via PM. Of course Sevenbtcc has first dibs as he was the origonal poster. For those that asked we are based in Solihull area, close to J3 of the M42 motorway. thanks, Nigel.
  2. Shame, yes i thought you would have one on the R500, i just remembered fitting mine to my R500 Kit build. It's back to your drawing/designing board then!!
  3. I took loads of pictures if you need to see them, but its a bit hard to upload big sets here. I can email them if needed.
  4. Ive got my spare set of 6 and 8s with ZZRs fitted if you are interested. The wheels are less than a year old, They are the black version with Diamond cut silver rims. Front tyres are nearly new, rears have seen action around Curborough a few times but lots of life left in them.
  5. Hi James, An excellent looking solution created there! I know it would double the cost, but would the genuine Caterham nylon wedge work added to your masterpiece to replace the wooden block? https://caterhamparts.co.uk/dry-sump/6506-dry-sump-wedge-kit.html?search_query=Sump+gaurd&results=130 Just a suggestion if you wanted to look at alternatives.
  6. Spotted yesterday afternoon around 15:00 on the A34 heading towards Shirley by the Plough pub as I was waiting to turn right into Dog Kennel lane. i think the Reg was GN11 *** but didn’t really get to see closely enough A very brave, and wet owner I suspect, as it looked like it was just wearing a Half hood and we had torrential rain. All of our local roads have been badly flooded for days, so my 620R remains tucked up in my garage.
  7. spotted as i was heading back from Yorkshire down the M1 onto the M42. Orange Super Sport with aero screen, driver wearing white helmet. Think the reg was GN12 ??? Or similar. We were stuck in the southbound traffic from the NEC down to the A34 at the same time as you. Was also sporting a Lotus Seven Club Sticker on the right hand arch and a sporting bears sticker on the left hand arch.
  8. That was me in my 620r and Kev in his Yellow Supersport R Nick! we were on our way back from a day out at Curborough! yep the traffic at DUNTON island was a nightmare!
  9. said hi to you in the paddock, I pointed out that you had lost one of your rear lenses! Nigel. owner of the other 620R.
  10. The game has moved on a bit now, and the prices are tumbling. These seem a good value option for full led units at about £100 for a pair from Amazon. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Wisamic-Projection-Headlight-Motorcycles-Bulb-Black/dp/B01EA7U4GS No side light it seems, but at that price if your worried about the sidelight for MOT you can just swap them back!
  11. Good Point JK, yes a 12v power socket is a well needed item. Ans yes they are standard on both the 620S and 620R from the factory. I always seem to have loads of devices that need power or charging cables so I also have another socket and USB ports on my rear bulkhead by the top of the passenger seat too.
  12. Just realised we forgot to add the battery master cut out switch to the list too. Ive always specced that on all my Caterham's for the last 20 years. Its a must have in my opinion.

I've just had my 620R ( S3 ) fuel gauge recalibrated as it always under read. Since new. I previously could only get about eighteen litres in when it was showing empty, but it Should be able to take closer to thirty litres from empty to fill it up. Having said that I managed to get one hundred and twenty miles on one tank, from indicated full to the red quadrant . Now its been recalibrated I have driven an indicated one hundred and ten miles and it's still showing a quarter left on the tanks so I believe one hundred and forty to one hundred and fifty range should be the normal range.
  14. Engine speed cylinders James? I seem to recall on my car it had to be set to what seems to be an odd number? But can't recall what that was?
  15. I can't see those pictures either. ive got the manual from when I had my R500, will try to share on Dropbox with link below. https://www.dropbox.com/s/jcbg5lftidh2tty/ST8100.pdf?dl=0
  16. Hi Chris, I asked the very same question of this company, but was told no, they will only supply complete units, which is quite a shame. As the units are very expensive for what they are at £200 for a pair, it seems that this policy of not just selling the board on its own at a lower cost, will affect unit sales badly. I would have thought, that the vast majority of Seven owners, perhaps as high as 90% of owners, will already have the lenses and light blocks, whether standard rubber, metal, or carbon Fibre , and would not want to change them back to a standard block again. As I said, I believe this is a big opportunity missed to sell a very large amount of these units. Naturally I can't comment on the tooling and setup costs, together with the supply chain min/max unit order thresholds, but it does seem odd that they are not prepared to sell the Led board on its own, as they are obviously buying that unit in complete from one supplier source, then purchasing the rubber block and lenses from another different supplier, and assembling the complete unit in house locally. To me it would make more sense to concentrate on the board manufacture, increase the number of unit sales of boards on their own, and re negotiate with the manufacturer to reduce the cost based on increased unit volume purchase as a result of higher retail unit sales. Just an observation and stream of thoughts from me though!
  17. Yep good call on the shift lights too, I wouldn't be without mine for track work. As for as paint protection film is concerned , he can use any company. I chose to use Premier Paint Guard, and Dave fitted the film at the Bookatrack workshop. If he's not on face book, can't invite him to the group! Sorry!
  18. Get your friend to send me a blatmail with his email and he can join our 620 owners page on Facebook. We have an active community of 620r and 620s owners who can all offer advice on spec. as mark has said before, my suggestion would also be lowered floors, and the fia roll bar. i would also recommend having the full weather equipment with interchangeable aeroscreen too, which gives the best of both worlds for all weather conditions. Also agree on the race spec dampers, they are very stiff for road use, but they can easily be changed for a better choice after the car has been delivered. Finally some paint protection film for trackdays is a must too, mine has it, but after 11 trackdays in 5 months, it has lot of chips in the paint guard film, thankfully not in the paint itself!
  19. So that was slightly easier, using the media tab did make it a bit easier, the output result seems a bit odd though?
  20. So that's what we got, at least we can post a larger file, I think this one was 2.8mb. but the problem is you have to upload one file at a time, and if you have lots of other files already there, it's quite easy to " loose " the file you just uploaded in the list. So it's still to time consuming to do it this way, I think the blatchat team need to look at improving this asap.
  21. So in response to Sean's comment I thought I would create a blog for pictures, to see if it is easy. Here goes. the problem with posting pictures in threads is two fold, it's hard to navigate the process to get the picture posted, and a lot of the time larger files over 2mb won't be uploaded at all due to the size resotrictions. So let's say I want to post all my pictures taken recently of my 620R.
  22. Yep I would say that's the best route to look at too. I wonder if there is an easy way to look at the can bus control for the dash? It might have a separate ecu located in the loom somewhere?.
  23. Hi Mike, I have not even had a look at the construction of the gauges on my 620R, are you saying they are totally sealed, and even the led illumination can not be easily accessed?
  24. The gauges in my new 620R are very bright in use at night too. The current ones fitted to our cars are made by Caerbont Automotive. http://www.caigauge.com/automotive However I believe they use can bus led bulbs for illumination. This would make them hard to dim using a pot or rheostat type control, as they could only be dimmed by using pulse width modulation to effectively slow down the speed they are flashing at, even though the human eye does not see it due to the speed they are flashing. Not sure of any other easy way to dim the individual led bulbs in each gauge. I do wonder if there is an ecu that controls the can bus feed to the units, if so that could be programmable to reduce the output, but I have now idea how it could be done. I suspect we are stuck with the brightness as supplied,
