  1. All done a few days ago, so new owner can proudly display the plate Thanks to those that were helpful. As to the other Oz........
  2. I have the retention document, and I appear to be the Grantee. I'm assuming the Nominee will be the new owner? What's confusing, is that there is space on the retention document for the name of the nominee, but no space for the nominees address, so if I send it off to the DVLA, how do they know where the nominee lives?? Oz.
  3. Provisionally sold. Just trying to figure out how you actually transfer it to someone else! Anyone have any experience of this? Oz....
  4. Sorry Les, This is sold now.
  5. See my items for sale. If I don't hear back from the other guy soon, I might have one for sale. Oz.....
  6. You can buy any C7 XXX plate from DVLA (apart from the really clever ones) for £399 all in. So, if you fancy a nice short plate on the front of your car, how about C7 FST for £325 including transfer fee. Oz.....
  7. Updated as of today.
  8. Mark, you have a message. Oz...
  9. Noted Dave Will update each item once paid for. Oz.

  11. Nigel, you also have a message.
  12. Nick, you have a BM.
  13. Updated, assuming all payments arrive. Following the sale of my car, I have the following items which may be of interest. Genuine Caterham carbon fibre aeroscreen to suit narrow body S3. Fitted with 3 carbon effect mirrors from CBS, and poppers for the usual fitting on bulkhead. Also included are stainless washers, and a pair of wiper spindle covers. VGC £250 Sold collected A pair of Caterham wind defectors which fit on the sidescreen hinges. These have carbon effect mirrors fitted, and Dr Ozzy's special patented spring retaining system, which ensures that they stay against the body, and do not flip forward under heavy braking! VGC £50 Sold, paid & posted out A pair of soft bits vinyl half doors (very handy with the above), fitted with the usual position poppers. These are quite handy, as you can roll them up, and keep them in the boot. VGC £50 Sold, paid & posted out. One brand new clutch cable for K series. Sold, paid & posted out £20 Two brand new throttle cables for K series. Sold, both paid & posted out £25 each Brand new ignition coil for K series EU2. Still for sale £15 Alternator for K series EU2. I think this is brand new, or at least it looks it, and has never been fitted. I bought this as a spare from another club member. Still for sale £50 I also have a red supersport cam cover insert in good condition. This is actually sold now, and being collected at some point. £15 seem fair? I doubt you can buy these anymore. All prices are inclusive of postage within UK. Please note, in the interest of transparency and fairness, post your interest on here. I do have pictures of everything, so I guess you'll have to drop me a mail via BC with your email address, and I'll send them on. Also, as I am away from home on and off over the next couple of weeks, it may take a while to get things posted out, so please bear with me. Oz........
  14. Thanks Guy's for your comments, I'm sure you all had a hand in confirming to potential buyers, that this is a pretty decent car, and generating interest in it. I'll endevour to make Penn this month, and raise a glass to the passing of an era! Oz...
  15. Caterham 40th anniversary K series 1600 supersport. Ruby red metallic with silver stripe & noseband. Black windscreen & stanchions, 5 ¾” black headlamps, flared wings, number 52 plaque on dashboard. 1600 K series EU2 supersport fitted with Apollo tank. Caterham 6 speed gearbox with aluminium gear knob. FIA single diagonal roll bar painted in body colour. Engine is running the original supersport cams, but was modified by DVA in 2007. Omega forged pistons with single tang rods. Fully ported head, piper verniers, lightweight flywheel. Powerspeed 4-2-1 repackable exhaust system, 52mm throttle body. Less than 2000 miles ago the car had a refresh at DVA. The engine was stripped down and new liners, rings, big ends, valve stem seals were fitted. The head was stripped, cleaned and all valves cleaned and lapped. It has the correct steel dowels, and uprated head gasket fitted. Red silicon hoses throughout including heater hoses, later type aluminium radiator fitted. Around the same time, I fitted new plugs, leads, dizzy cap and rotor arm, and also replaced the fuel filter. I’ve never had the car dyno’d, but it’s probably around 150HP. For some reason, this has always been a very fast car, and doesn’t seem to have any trouble keeping up with R300’s. Around 3000 miles ago, the car had a complete new clutch assembly fitted, new rear brake caliper, new brake fluid, new rear crankshaft seal. This work was carried out by Chris at the 7 workshop, and I have all the bills, for all the above work. The car was first registered in March 1998 and I am the third owner. During the 12 years I have owned the car, I have meticulously looked after it, and done most of the regular servicing myself. Many items have been replaced over the years. New A frame & bushes. De Dion tube is the later stronger type with the welded supports for the suspension dampers. Approx 3 years ago I stripped the front suspension, re-powder coated the suspension arms, fitted new dampers, new springs, new rod ends, new rack gaitors, new anti roll bar. This all still looks nearly new, with none of the rust you so often see on the front suspension of a Caterham. New nosecone was fitted around 4 years ago (the type which covers the wishbone bolts, and front chassis member), and this plus both front wings were repainted by Tony at TSK, and then paint guard fitted. The underbody is in excellent condition, and fully coated with Waxoyl, any inspection welcome. The dashboard is leather coated, leather tunnel top, and leather S type seats. Handbrake is in tunnel top. The seats are not original either, as I replaced these a few years ago, with a pair of used newer ones. All of the interior is in very good condition. Dash is fitted with a fan override switch wired via a relay with indicator lamp. Two position switch for reading water & oil temperature. LED engine start switch. Mechanical oil pressure gauge fitted, as I got fed up with the useless electrical version! Caterham 4 point harnesses fitted. Mesh map pocket in passenger footwell, and also on bulkhead between the seats, soft bits tunnel bag. Two ignition keys, and two remote plippers. Full hood and hoodbag, although I have never used this! Sidescreens in good condition except slight bubble in plastic window on passenger side, where it was stored with something pressing against it. Millwood wrap around stoneguards fitted to rear wings. The bodywork is generally in very good condition (as I am a bit of a polisher!), although obviously there are some stone chips here and there. High level brake light fitted to rollbar diagonal. Reversing light and fog light replaced with 100mm LED units. Full Tonneau cover with pockets for headrests. Soft bits MK1 half hood. 15” Prisoner wheels shod with Toyo R1R tyres. Rear tyres nearly new, fronts with over 5mm tread. All wheels in excellent condition, no kerbing/peeling. Spare wheel carrier is not fitted, as I removed this many years ago. I still have it, and it could be modified to make it a removeable type. This will be included, as will the original spare wheel which has never been on the road, and is in mint condition. I also have 4 more Prisoner wheels with bald tyres, and some marks on the rims. If buyer wants these, they are welcome to them FOC. The car is currently MOT’d until middle of June, and if necessary I’m quite happy to MOT it for 12 months if buyer is serious, but I will need some notice, as I can only get this done at a weekend. Mileage is currently 58024. I have a stack of bills for all the works/parts I’ve replaced over the years, and all MOT certificates. A C7 plate is currently fitted. Really not sure whether to keep this, but might sell with car for £250 plus any fees if buyer is interested in it. Asking price is £11,950, which I think is reasonable. Anyone interested can send me a private mail via Blatchat, or telephone 07720067763. This is a business number, so I may not always be able to take the call, but please leave a message, and I’ll call you back.
  16. Oily showed me a big spanner wrench which fits the hex section on the back of the filter. Must remember to buy one after my last escapade, which also resulted in the traditional screwdriver method, which although works every time, is a bit messy!

Do any of you seriously believe these make a blind bit of difference to your aerodynamic brick on wheels? Seems to me, that all they're likely to do is get in the way when you're cleaning the car! Oz.....
  18. Bloody hell! Sorry for the hijack Paul, but I thought you'd left the club! Not sure I've seen you since the Isle of Man all those years ago, when you were having a few issues with the car. Have you still got it, are you well, how's the music business? And of course the other half (Pauline?) memories gone again! Oz (Nigel)
  19. Forgot to mention. You do need to cut down an Allen key for the one next to the body. Angle grinder does the job perfectly! Up to you whether you want to remove the whole can, but sometimes to get it off the primaries, you do have to slacken the other ends where they're bolted to the head, which to be honest, is not something you really want to do regularly. Oz....
  20. As you have the Powerspeed (as do I), probably easier to use the bags of glass fibre, as you don't need to remove the whole can. Jack the back up, remove the n/s wheel, pop the end cap off the can, and there's enough room to stuff it in with the wheel out of the way. Oz...
  21. Phil, I have drained and refilled my system more times than you can shake a stick at, and never had a problem. You don't need to drill a hole in the thermostat, and you don't need a bleed tee. The thermostat is not very easy to get at, especially if you're a spanner numpty! Not convinced about adding plastic tees into the system either. Over time the plastic becomes brittle, and can easily crack. Lots of issues a few years ago when CC fitted a plastic tee to one of the engines, can't remember which one? Also, if you overdo the jubilee clips, same scenario. All you need to do, is basically what you have done, front up in the air, bleed screw in rad open, and add in lots of massaging/squeezing of the top and bottom rad hoses, and jobs a good un. Some people seem to think it's a difficult job, but it's really not hard. Just keep squeezing, good exercise to improve your grip strength! See you soon. Oz.....
  22. Brilliant. Can't believe you bothered to search for this. I'd have given up, as obviously the bloke wasn't serious about selling at the time!
