  1. Brian James A-Max 3.6m x 1.76m 2 ton gross. Converted by Hensons. I bought the trailer new in 2006 and it was converted shortly after. professionally maintained, 3500 kg Bradley hitch, much better quality than standard. At least 3 brand new tyres (unfitted). Tyre rack, remote control electric winch. Needs some TLC and a service. For sale due to upgrade. £3000 or nearest offer. will be at Anglesey this weekend.
  2. I suspect the root cause is the action of the LSD, one wheel losing grip and all the power being fed to the remaining wheel, unsticking that as well. In my experience this can be dramatically improved by having softly sprung, correctly damped suspension.
  3. Fantastic day. There was even a demonstration of low flying.
  4. Have a look a gps speedos for cars on eBay. There are lots of options that may be more suitable than a bike one.
  5. Under lower side chassis rails, front pads immediately behind engine mount bolts, rear as far back as possible, under the front of the rear arches. I have to lift the rear of the car a little with a trolley jack to get the arms under the car, then raise the rear lifting pads on their jacking screws to avoid lifting on the exhaust.
  6. The Caterham IVA manual (that I just looked at) is referring to exposed electrical connections. If it's covered you should be ok.
  7. Entries opened on Monday, limit is 110 and they are already at 63, so could be oversubscribed. You know what to do!
  8. I've tried to fill the entry form in but have been defeated by the digital signature requirements! Any one else done it. I also noticed the event regs require all L7 class cars to have a reverse gear.
  9. You need an RS Interclub licence which says on it "competition driver/entrant" The medical stuff is a self declaration.
  10. Have a look at the car builder solutions video on head tanks and expansion tanks.
  11. If you get it repaired have some gussets welded between the inlet pipe and the end cap.
  12. I had that master cylinder on my car a few years ago. It had the lid from a plastic pop bottle with a small vent hole drilled!
  13. Is there a truck stop in the area?
  14. Raceline do a complete Caterham Zetec system with blue silicon hoses.
  15. Clive, Thanks for the reply, sorry I seem to have missed it. Richard has sent me some pictures of his car and your car which has the same pedal box as mine. I am going to replicate that design. I would be interested in your master cylinders, could you send me details?
  16. My Live axle Zetec powered car is fitted with James Whiting Alcon 4 pot calipers on standard discs on the front and Peugeot 205 calipers on Fiesta discs on the rear. Mintex1144 all round. Single comp master cylinder, Willwood bias valve in rears wound to maximum. The braking is a bit disappointing. I can lock the fronts easily but suspect the rears aren't working very hard. The car is used for sprints and hillclimbs only. The rear caliper piston area is only 25% of the front. Does anyone have a feel for what the front to rear ratio of caliper piston area should be?
  17. There’s a new Premier Inn in Holyhead
  18. I have a freestyle narrow track adjustable arb hibernating in my garage. It’s seen very little use and could be re-homed.
  19. Longton, Liverpool, HSA and XBC in the Formula Ford. Starting at Anglesey. Caterham is having a season off although it’s ready to go in case of emergencies.
  20. I’m sure they’ll be in good order. Which event are you starting with?
  21. According to the Motorsport UK web site, the Lotus 7 club is an affiliated club. i don’t think it’s necessary to be in one of the 13 regional associations, and it probably isn’t appropriate for a national/international club.
  22. Jack Webb Motorsport has the upgraded hub/stub axle kit on his web site.
  23. Shenstone and district car club have an introduction to sprinting day on 19th May this year at Curborough.
  24. Yes, mine is as Ian describes, made by Mike Riley (Raceco). It’s like an upside down letter T. the bottom of the T is bolted to the chassis, one side of the top tucks under the floor, the other side sticks out and carries the exhaust bobbin.
