  1. Was going the over way in a Green/yellow roadsport, waved, not sure you noticed
  2. When I built my sigma 125 I inadvertently got the gearbox mounting rubber the wrong way round (180 dgrees out). This made it impossible to centre the mount on the chassis with the two bolts. Are you sure you've not done the same? Is the mounting central to the chassis, if you look from below the bolt through the rubber should be central in the cut out. Even when the rubber was put right the gearbox wanted to go towards the drivers side and I had to use a lever between the chasis tubes and the gearbox to force it to the passenger side while a mate torqued up the two bolts onto the chasis.
  3. Had my Roadsport 125 on the road for just over a month and its become very apparent to me that the tyres that came with car, Avon ZV3 185/60 R14, are far from ideal. I'm looking for a more grippy tyre for road use, the plan is that car will be used for dry miles the majority of the time. The car has 14 inch minilites and this seems to limit my options as CR500 aren't available in this size. I don't want to swap to 13in wheels just yet! Yokahoma A021 and A048 seem to be mentioned a lot in threads, but which to go for and are there any others to consider?
  4. The symptoms are the same as mine before the clutch was full bled. Any chance there's a leak at the filler cap, a leak here wouldn't loose fluid.
  5. I've just finished my 125 build a few months ago. My clutch was self bleeding, there wasn't a bleed screw as in the manual. Initially the clutch was very light and it took a lot of pedal depressions for the self bleeding system to sort itself out and the pedal to become "normal" and activate the clutch. Have you also checked to make sure these no leak?
  6. saw you on the M20 at about 7.20, came of at same time as me at J10. I waved but you didn't see me. Love the yellow stripe!
  7. Built it myself, for me that was half the fun. First though about it about 20 years ago, but then kids intervened. finally got around age 45! Now feel like a teenager again, best toy a grown man can have. 😬
  8. I live about 3 miles from the airport cafe, pass it often on the way to work. I couldn't make the last months Ringlestone meet as I was on call for the local hospital and the pubs just too far for me to get back in a hurry (even in a seven!) Hope to make the next and meet all my local seveners.
  9. Mines a 125 too, only been on the road for 4 weeks and I'm still feeling protective! Will probably do likewise and make myself feel better by putting in the occassional tank of EXPENSIVE fuel. How's Tonbrigde? I went to school there 30 years ago. Matthew
  10. Anybody out there been using shell v power unleaded in a sigma 125 or 150? I'm thinking it might be good to fill up with a tank occasionally from the point of view of keeping the engine in good nick as it has a higher level of additives. I presume the ECU can adjust for the higher octane rating.
  11. Hi Just out of interest how did you find the upgrade? was it as good as you hoped? I've got a sigma 125 and have started to think that I need more acceleration and I am considering the upgrade.
  12. Have you tried engaging a gear, should stop the prop shaft turning.
  13. I was thinking of getting some film and fitting it, but wgere can you buy it?
  14. Spotted on a trailer at junction 11 this morning. Love the colour.
  15. Goes to the inertia switch mounted on the bulkhead just behind the battery.
  16. I believe that my car was one of the original two which was failed on IVA at Gillingham due to the routing of the wiring loom around the gearbox/ engine. The car is still at cc (3 weeks later) and is shortly due for its second retest. Sharon sounds pretty fed up, and it sounds as if cc have had huge problems trying to sort the issue out with VOSA. I'm just glad I paid to have cc present the car, and would strongly suggest to anyone that is planning to present a car at Gillingham forgets it and pays the extra to get cc to do it for them
  17. Cheers for the suggestion. Managed to get the headlight brackets further in using the good old rubber hammer and the cycle wings just clear with pods straight ahead.
  18. Thanks for the welcome, I look forward to meeting to fellow local members Matthew
  19. Just finished building a Roadsport 125 (sigma), and I've noticed a wire connected to the back right side of the fuel tank the other end of which is not attached to anything?! Is this meant to be an earth strap for the tank, and where should it be attached? Also I have experienced the same problem that others have posted with the front indicator pods hitting the cycle wings at full lock. I've angled the lights in to get past the imminent IVA, but is there a better long term solution?different pods. It seems extraordinary that Caterham haven't produced a solution of here own, except suggesting converting to wide track. Many thanks in advance on my first posting
