  1. How did you get on with the VelStatic? MPG, relaibility, pet-hates, driving experience, etc? BB
  2. I think you might be right, £19.98 (unknown length) from Caterham £24.99 for 915mm lengths from Demon Tweeks I agree with the safety first approach, and this way it doesn't stick out around the roll cage either, although I imagine that the same look could be fashioned with five mins and a Stanley knife.
  3. Erm, just how many miles are you going to do?! Less than 10k per year and the price of the gas is really not going to be a significant factor. Get it mapped for 97 and carry octane booster for when you can't find any. From watching tests, there can be 10% power difference between 95 and 97 octaine. Shirley if you wanted a lower spec, more eco motor you would have had it re-built to a tree hugging spec... BB
  4. 🙆🏻 Tastes as bad as ever... 😳 BB
  5. not answering your question exactly but look here and here BB
  6. a bit small but at least a starter for 10? here here here or a combination of them? BB
  7. Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs were all in bed feeling Happy... ...so Happy got out... BB
  8. Bitter? He's more of a mild man, Shirely? BB
  9. 'Bird?!?!!? Ye Gods man, he wants lightweight! 😳 You Shirley mean an R1 motor... 😬 BB
  10. in a comedy about face, if you are to save weight, rotating weight is where it is at. Look in the 7FAQ's about the Hoopster's findings, very interesting. BB Edited to add, I always fancied on of these here... Edited by - Badger Bill on 10 Dec 2009 11:35:21
  11. Oh, BTW, my old Sylva Striker 'Blade (BEC LSIS) was 428kgs with full fluids, heater, wiper motor and padded seats, so I do sort of get where you are coming from, but in my defense, I only had about 130bhp! BB
  12. I'd wish to apologise for the rant in advance, so if you think that I post crap most of the time, don't bother reading on! So, let me get this right. You have a car which is stunning to look at, great to drive and shiny new to you, and you want to spend time and money on loosing perhaps upto 50kg to make it quicker? Going off online (read optimistic!) 1/4 mile calculators you will gain 0.1 sec 0-60 take less than 0.1 sec less to do a 1/4 mile and have a 1 mph higher terminal speed, so it is hardly going to be noticeably quicker. I apologise if you are a driving legend and can launch your car off the line repeatably to within 0.1 sec of it's optimum, and are always in the right gear for the right bend on the right line with no other external influences, such as other traffic on the road or track, can guarantee ideal road conditions, etc. but if you are not all of these and do live in a world where reality does get in the way, what would be the point? £5k is ~18.5k miles of fuel! (at 20mpg, £1.20 per l), what could be a better use of that time and money than that?! Are you going to look back on your ownership and say, "Well, that trip through the Evo triangle would have been so much better if I had gun drilled my driveshafts and waxed my chest hair off to save a bit of weight..." Or are you going to say, "Damn, I wish I'd been here in the Seven when I had it, it would have been epic..." Personally I'd nail in a comfy seat (or padding) and spend the time and money smoking the 🙆🏻 off it visiting all the great roads and places that are possible. BB
  13. Got it hot then re-set the idle to 2000rpm? 😳 😬 BB
  14. now you are talking! get yourself over to the retro rides forum, there will be loads of guys over there who would be able to help. bb
  15. Everyone but Brebs, don't read this; Brebs, Yes, and the fish have no underpants. Regards Secret Agent BB
  16. Any of you seen this? What a load of old tosh. Completely missed me. Ultra subjective and very suspect. Surely a like for like best of would be better, with 10 categories with the 10 best of's, then do the best of them. Nothing to do with the fact that my smoker is only just in the top 65 of course! BB
