  4. Yoko's every time. Polleys had no 021's in that size before Christmas, if you wish to pay a premium for them DT's list them as 'In Stock'. Let me know if you manage to get some as i'll have some money again soon and tyres for the Seven are top of the list. Ashley Webster. 1400 Supersport forever !
  5. Interesting question, well it is and it is'nt. I'll explain, my first car was a 1400K Supersport 128ish horsepower, thought it was fantastic but perhaps just a little more power would have done or a 6 speed box, anyway 128hp - 540kg almost (for me) perfect, life conspired against me and separated me from said Seven , until, my second Seven a James Whiting Fireblade, bloomin heck, 130hp - 400kg, felt too quick for me but oh so well balanced and a joy to drive quickly, then you start to get used to it, the power, the balance, the grip, gears, rpm, on public roads, hmm, get my drift ?, got the feeling i'd be behind bars soon, so sold it , no car will ever replace it (for me), bought my third Seven another 1400SS engined car but this time a Roadsport chassied Limited Edition, so, 128hp - 500kg (if you believe the blurb), 6 Speed box, feels sweet as a nut to me an excellent balance of power and weight. When I first joined this club in late 2000/ early 2001 I remember someone telling me that in many ways it does not depend how powerful a Seven is, it is more the fact that it is a Seven. FIA Bar

Do I really have to go and buy one from Caterham, not too keen on having an X in my mirror all the time. ISTR the present FIA bars are Safety Devices items, do Arch still make them ? Ashley Webster. 1400 Supersport forever !

  14. No, no, back in a Seven again now, as of last weekend actually. Got to try and keep this latest car forever if at all possible or I might incur the wrath of 'err indoors. I guess one of the cars you mention is the Blue one that was on PH beautiful car lovely colour and I would have bought it but for the Biscuit leather interior, just did'nt do it for me personally, also having experienced the Whiting Fireblade and the slight feeling of being 'on your own' when it came to certain things I felt the 21 might be a bit the same and my present need is for a Seven that will be there for me when I need it, being a perfectionist when it comes to some things cars can turn into mobile re-engineering projects and thus can quickly become immobile re-engineering projects !, in short though I have to spend some time fixing my house up before I do that again. 15. Well I try my best ! Quite amazed that the same part numbers work for two different companies, when I bought mine (some years ago) RS were the most expensive (ISTR paying £14 from Farnell even) but now things seem to have reversed . I look forward to seeing the pics of the completed car soon, we have one of your compatriots along to our local Oxford meet and he almost convinced me to buy a 21 after I sold my Blade engined car... Ashley Webster. 1400 Supersport forever !
  16. Also appears to be available with the same part number (If you search using '76-9410/439088R SWITCH, FLUSH RED') for £8.37 from RS Components who have trade counters thus avoiding delivery charges. The one in Brum is @ Duddeston Mill Road, Duddeston Mill Industrial Estate, Birmingham, B8 1AP i'd call 'em first on 0121 359 8844 just to make sure they have one. Ashley Webster. 1400 Supersport forever !
  17. If its of any use and in case no-one has one lying around I got mine from the Farnell catalogue for around £10. They were the cheapest between RS and a few other suppliers and there is a choice of colours should you wish for it not to be big and red. Ashley Webster. 1400 Supersport forever !
  18. Is that wise ric ? he's a very busy man what with the ironing and all ! however it is the unmentionable subject that everyone is watch-ing out for... Ashley Webster. 1400 Supersport forever ! Edited by - The_ASH on 22 Oct 2007 13:23:52

  23. Just try draining it first andsee whats stuck to the magnet. If there are any curved metallic lumps stuck to it then the unit will have to come out. It all seemed pretty easy to strip to me, just time consuming to remove from the car and re-fit, once off the hardest thing was getting the locknut un-done, if you order some spare parts from Nova be sure to get some fresh locknuts and perhaps a spare chain too (I think they were £10 each). If you don't have a breather then get that done at the same time as well. Ashley Webster. Dieseling off towards the horizon at a rather economical rate of knots.....
  24. I was hoping he'd tell me where Stokes Bay is, Autoroute reckons Ontario, Canada... but after searching on the web Gosport seems more like it. So thats 60ish miles for me and 160ish for you. What was wrong with the one on your bench ? Similar kind of thing ? Ashley Webster. Dieseling off towards the horizon at a rather economical rate of knots.....
  25. It might be worth doing an oil change to see what is stuck to the magnet on the drain plug, if there are any of the rollers (or bits of them) attached then it will need to be stripped, leaving it is not an option as you run the risk of the chain breaking falling to the bottom of the case and the drive jamming meaning the rear wheels will lock, it is beyond the clutch in the drivetrain so once it locks you have no or little control, fine at low speed not so good at a higher speed. Other BEC posters on here have had this happen, better to be safe than sorry. If you lived anywhere near Abingdon i'd be glad to come and have a look at it with you. I think the reverse record car had some more power and a higher rev limit to be able to acheive the record, still quite a feat though, it's been a long time since I did it but flat out in reverse in a normal car seemed scary enough to me let alone 100+ mph ! Never tried it in my Seven after seeing Bladerunner's pics of the inside of his reverser. Ashley Webster. Dieseling off towards the horizon at a rather economical rate of knots.....
