  1. I've seen one, I'll enquire. Front splitter is easy, just extend the floorpan out to the nosecone with some decent honeycomb or carbon.
  2. :) I try not to use the word Westfield in posts as they tend to get a little tetchy ;) Weight-wise, we weighed it in Barbados with the big A032s, windscreen, non-alli rear shocks, two Camelbaks (water carries), heavy duty front disks (not the rotors), emergency tool-kit, full of fuel etc. It came in at 410kg. Should be around the 385kg mark over here. It's a bit nippy.
  3. Loosely based on a Westfield. I think the only Westfield parts on it are the rear uprights, wishbones and the chassis (as a starting point, it's been highly strengthened and braced).
  4. Trust me, a very, very reluctant sale. The car was converted from Vx power to R1 power over winter. A full rebuild from the chassis up due to a change in regulations - when doing an engine conversion correctly, it's not a case of simply removing one and putting in another, there is simply far too much take into account to get it perfect. So the the car was taken back to a chassis (repowder-coated) and painstakingly rebuilt to the highest spec, using over 90% brand new components with no expense spared. (photos of the rebuild can be seen at here). So, while the car is actually three years old (initial Vx powered car completed in 2000) it is really just this in spirit, in essence the car is brand new (completed in May). The engine has less than 1,500 miles on the clock (brand new when installed). It comes with 12 months MOT as I am about to put it in for it's scheduled MOT, it needs an MOT as it's fully road-legal :) Edited by - gee_fin on 15 Jul 2003 00:37:42
  5. Significantly less than a factory car (ie sig. sub £20k), discussed on a personal basis (email/phone). Graeme.
  6. A change of circumstances forces the sale of perhaps the most highly specified bike-engined car to date. A well-known and popular car, immaculately prepared with no expense spared. As part of the sale the buyer will receive full support, discounted parts/spares from Fluke for the future, and if wished, we can offer a full entry package (with flights, accommodation, shipping, support, etc.) into the 2004 Barbados Rally Carnival. 14. No longer subscribed on it, just haven't got the time to keep up with it right now Will endeavour to do so once things calm down in the New Year. ________________________________________________________ graeme finlayson / tyre warmer / fluke motorsport gee_fin@hotmail.com / www.fluke-motorsport.co.uk
  15. Haven't had a chance to put them up on the Se7ens.net yet :) Will do if they don't shift. They fit under some 13" rims (it's a tight squeeze mind you), so they should fit under most 14" rims. Whereabouts are you? It's probably easiest to test to be sure! :) Graeme. ________________________________________________________ graeme finlayson / tyre warmer / fluke motorsport gee_fin@hotmail.com / www.fluke-motorsport.co.uk

  17. I remember seeing that thing at Santa Pod, totallly hilarious :) He would snake from lane to lane with the wheelspin, light the tyres up every shift, have to back off accordingly, and yet still post sub 10s runs that were 'sh$t' (- in his words!). Absolutely fanbloodytastic ________________________________________________________ graeme finlayson / tyre warmer / fluke motorsport gee_fin@hotmail.com / www.fluke-motorsport.co.uk

  21. LOL Oh, sorry, I read that a little low brow.....
  22. Some strange comments on here regarding the Quaife unit that I don't fully follow the reasoning for, but anyways..... We used the Quaife unit for 6,000miles, and once settled, found it to be the best thing I have _ever_ used in a car. I've since changed the box, not out of choice, but out of rules/regulations. The shift is not heavy and I would never describe it as agricultural, the weight of the shift seemed spot on. With a bike shift, it feels too light, you shift with one finger. The Quaife unit is a solid pull/push but this feels more secure and confidence inspiring. We managed to get 6,000 miles out of the box, most of which were hard driven competition mileage, and a lot of that clutchless. Quaife are now doing uprated dogs for the box as well. A fantastic piece of engineering and I would happily use it again if the series allowed. Dave's box sounds great, spot-on price-wise, I'm stunned at the weight and the facility for drop gears is fantastic. 23. RS? Most of the parts for the loggers I've used can be found in there somewhere, including Pi and Motec! :)
  24. Sorry, not posting much these days (new job, new location, goodbye 10hrs/day in front of the Internet!). Anyways, onto the MyChron logger - Most of it was gone over in that previous thread. At the moment, we're running it on the 250cc we've got (lovely 10mb video of the kart over in Clarkey's gallery on BookaTrack. On the kart it's been great, bright lights, full replay in real time in the pits and then analysis on the PC afterwards. We're running the Kart Gold Plus, which is basically the Car Gold Plus minus the two pressure inputs (I was too impatient to wait for the car one :) ). For ~£500 (inc VAT) you get the LCD display which shows revs (rising rate bar graph), revs numerical, two temps, two pressures, laptimes, speed, eight sequential shift lights, two over temp, two over pressure lights, gear indicator. Add in the software that gives laptimes, trackmaps and all the usual toys. Accelerometers are in the box so the display can be steering wheel mounted. It's supplied with the rpm sender, speed sender, one temp sender and the lap beacon. I'm so in love with the thing I think I'm going to buy another one for the car and leave this one on the kart! Speak with Graham at Speedline (www.speedlog.co.uk) for further info or feel free to drop me a line if you'd like a look at it (kart is in Maidenhead, logger will be either there or Stamford). Top piece of kit Graeme. ________________________________________________________ graeme finlayson / tyre warmer / fluke motorsport gee_fin@hotmail.com / www.fluke-motorsport.co.uk
