  1. Just to add my two pennyworth to the canon of knowledge on Speed Championship power outputs, Northampton Motorport yesterday recorded 148.4 BHP at 7,300 RPM 115.5 lb ft at 5,900 RPM Spec is dry sump 1600cc, Dave Andrews ported head, standard Caterham Supersport non hydraulic cams, 52mm throttle body, standard Caterham primaries leading to 4:2:1 Powerspeed collector and catalyst silencer, standard air filter Out of interest in its heyday as a Roadsport A racer the original unmodded engine with no catalyst made 135BHP +- 2BHP at its many Minister rebuilds
  2. A nice dry garage space for me as well if still available please Grahame
  3. My daughter wants to sell her trailer so am posting on her behalf. Brian James A Max (pull out ramp type) used for Caterham/Kit car transport, but has wide enough bed to take a Radical. No winch or tyre rack Little use, always garaged, about 6 years old A quick scan of the ads seems to indicate somewhere around £1800 is the going rate and represents a healthy saving on a new one. Thanks for looking
  4. My CSR style wings are a very very snug fit to a 215 tyre, the overall width is 225mm and are mounted on low profile wing stays By the way you can get 7.5 inch modular wheels under these and still clear the inside of the wing stay
  5. Matthew If there is space and at the risk we will have power tested every ported 1600 car in existence might like to pop along Grahame
  6. Whole heartedly agree with the fundamental concept of simplifying the rules. Just for clarification does that mean that for Class2/3 cars with K series engines that 155bhp and standard plenum are the only restrictions? The point has been made several times about the importance of the driver over the odd few BHP, with the introduction to sprinting day coming up this is something we should really emphasise if newcomers are not going to be frightened away by thinking they have to upgrade to the top of the the power range for their class. If we can prove with examples the message has even more impact so am happy to be a sacrificial lamb if some of the past data shows how others do better with less grip and/or power
  7. Hi Chris I have a spare set of 6" and 8" Caterham 8 spoke anthracites sitting in the garage. A tie down rub on one front spoke and both rears have marks on inner rim where ARB picked up poorly placed balance weights Let me know sort of price you want and if you need pics. Live in Suffolk but often down in your neck of the woods Grahame
  8. Thanks for getting the info out so early, better distribution throughout the year but disappointed not to see Harewood as a double header again. Double header weekends reduce the overall per event cost of attending, (virtually all race series have gone this route) for those of us who need to build up to a time gives double the opportunity to do that. Even if the same people do get the same results two days in succession you could quite honestly pretty accurately guess the result at the beginning of the year without ever competing at all I did not note much boredom at Harewood this year and surely much of the success of Blyton and Angelsey was down to the amount of track time

    Angelsey

Well for those of us lucky enough to have the time to enjoy a more leisurely pace of life Anglesy enjoyed another dry bright start to the day ( 3 in succession now I know global warming has arrived) Formula 3 single seaters were testing at the circuit which did not look that quick in comparison to the large engined single seat sprint cars A great weekend, thanks to Simon for putting the year together, to Matthew for organising the Saturday night and to all the drivers for the weekends competition and banter A shame the leisurely pace also applies to life behind the wheel But there is always next year.............Can't wait Grahame
  10. Rob Sorry my maths had not caught up with the possibility of a space in your garage, so yes please pencil me in and will tally up with you on Saturday morning Thanks Grahame
  11. Sorry to mess everyone about but just got message from Longton and District MC that they had offered me the 11th garage of the 10 available Looks like it will be the eezee up with lots of additional weights to hold it down Grahame
  12. Andy Thanks for the response I have confirmed the garage booking. David if you still need shelter then as far as I understand there should be space enough See you there Grahame
  13. I have the last garage on hold, it is not worth the £100 to me but would happily book if I could spread the costs a bit Grahame
  14. Another thumbs up for the venue, the organisation the friendliness and even the weather when you consider what might have been Would be very happy to return in future years
  15. Paul Shock and surprise from this side too, have much enjoyed our paddock chats over the years and can only wish you a retirement from our sport filled with the best of memories. Will miss the sound of that proper engine in what is now sadly the last and only true entrant in the LOTUS seven club speed championship Besy Wishes Grahame
  16. Michael YH personal M Grahame
  17. Simon Thanks for all your efforts in putting together another interesting year Grahame
  18. Paul I have a set of 2x6" (did they make 6.5"?) and 2 x 8 " caterham anthracite 8 spokes. One of the fronts has a small rub on one spoke from tyre rack tie downs and both the rears have marks on the inner rim where the ARB picked up some poorly positioned balance weights. Other than that good condition Currently wearing Kumho super softs with one front totally gone Open to a reasonable offer, Grahame

    I'm a Grandpa!

Jeff Many congratulations to you all, will you be allowed off baby sitting duties to come and play at the weekends. If you thought kids were expensive just wait and see what grandchildren cost !!!! Enjoy the moment Grahame and Heather

    Wheels

I can confirm that there is a class 3 issue with MB wheels detatching themselves, although in my case a remapped brain and more talent would be more use than a torque wrench
  21. Images of wheels now with Simon who contacted me privately once I know his decision will repost whether still available. Grahame
  22. Images of wheels currently with 'taffyracer' for a decision. Will get back to John, Charles and Simon as soon as I have a decision. Thanks Grahame
  23. Hi I have said 13" Caterham anthracite 6" and 8 " rims available having gone 7.5 " fronts with sets of Barnby's and Compomotives BUT both rears have a small score on the inner rim where the ARB picked up some badly placed weights. If still intertested have some photos Currently fitted with soft Kumhos but front left pretty much destroyed rest have some track day use left. Also have centre caps Regards Grahame
  24. Just picked this subject up, still time to add another 2 for Saturday? Grahame
  25. Andrew Great news (I think) your arrival will certainly up the competitive ante as if it was not hot enough in class3 Does this mean Lisa gets more power to play with as well? Thinking about it, maybe its time to whip off the headlamps whip on the slicks and retire to the comparative peace of class 6 !!!! assuming I ever get the car back See you next year Grahame
