  4. Keep with the SP gearbox. Excellent quality and build service. Had lots of problems with my BGH until Steve at SP rebuilt it properly. Always wished I had gone with one of his boxes in my last 7 but got talked into the top range BGH instead. 8. Thanks everyone. I will use both. Better to be safe 😬 Just surprises me that the bells (or all in one discs) are just bolted up with just Loctite if heat can be a problem RiF Building a real super SUPER 7 with a V6 😬 😬 😬.For Build Pictures and LOTS of Carbon or try CA07BON for Henrietta's 7
  9. Thanks Colin, I did not know that. 42 views and only 1 reply. Gather others don't no the answer either RiF Building a real super SUPER 7 with a V6 😬 😬 😬.For Build Pictures and LOTS of Carbon or try CA07BON for Henrietta's 7
  10. Is there a need for lock washers when one uses Loctite? I am assembling up the calipers to a mounting plate. No spring washers were supplied (not CC calipers). I know that the normal calipers to the upright normally has a spring washer. Are there any rules as to when one should or should not use a spring or locking washer?? 11. I have a brand new fuel tank from k series injection, including pump and level thingy for sale. I have not worked a price out as I only got it back this week from the company who were going to modify it but built me a new one instead. 12. Thanks Giles, YHM Mark, that is perfect Where did you get that, it is not in any build manual I have? I will have a go over the weekend. 😬 I currently have benches of bits and want to start putting parts together 😬 Fed up with panelling, yet more carbon same as the weekday job RiF Building a real super SUPER 7 with a V6 😬 😬 😬.For Build Pictures and LOTS of Carbon or try CA07BON for Henrietta's 7
  13. I have a load of bits but am unsure of the assembly First how tight should the bearings be. Should I grease them? Gather rubber seal points outward in both directions on the hub/flange? I have a spacer (steel), not the thin ones but one about 6mm thick? Does this go against the vertical? Can find a breakdown picture. 14. Peter 😬 Especially for shorter persons, so one does not have to adjust the seat Also by moving forward in the Tillets, my wife does not crush her beautiful hips 😳 and I can still have tillets 😬 For the base of any of my Tillets I put a piece of neoprene foam. It does not absorb very much water, easily removeable to get rid of stones and very comfy even after 400miles RiF Building a real super SUPER 7 with a V6 😬 😬 😬.http://www.lu07tus.com">For Build Pictures and LOTS of Carbon</a> <span style=' color:red or try henrietta red--> Edited by - RiF on 4 Jul 2009 13:05:20

    Diff mounting bushes

Thanks, So pretty tight then!!! Just won't fancy changing them in a hurry. Will put them in before I put any panels on so I will have plenty of space Will try the freezer trick 😬 Good idea re the bolt Norman Busy trimming all the internal panels at the moment. Starting to have a vague look of a 7 😬 RiF Building a real super SUPER 7 with a V6 😬 😬 😬.http://www.lu07tus.com">For Build Pictures and LOTS of Carbon</a> <span style=' color:red or try henrietta red--> Edited by - RiF on 26 Jun 2009 16:38:25
  16. Just putting some bushes into my new chassis after the diff mount was strengthened. How tight should they be? Gather they should be a press fit but also removable if needed (again with pressure). If a big G clamp won't press them in, are they too tight? Would you use grease or copperslip? 17. Hi Mick, Glad to hear you are slowly progressing. Will look forward to seeing the wings 😬 Hopefully the dollar exchange rate will improve for your engine yes i should be on the road before yours but no schedule yet. Just so much to do and no time. 18. Duratec engine definitely will fit 😬 Even with 2 diagonal braces that are not detatchable. You will need gearbox and bell housing in place first. Not sure about your alternator as mine was LHD and fitted on the manifold side. You sould be able to refit and adjust the belt without any problems. 19. Steve, We are one of the distributors for Torqueline (see their site). They make all our props. The problem is we lost 2 orders a few weeks ago because they want to surcharge what I think is a fortune to change a length by a few millimetres. As so many of the enquiries are for specials we must find another supplier so we can offer a choice. Torqueline CTG have a monopoly in the UK and are snowed under with work. If you look in our shop you will see the range they already offer us and each was a special (except the std size). My new car has one of their props already to go in. Bob Thanks for the additional information. I think you are right, they will need to custom make for me. Not a major problem, just hoping to get a prop out for a very good price Hi Mick how are your plans for your build coming along????? Have you started to order yet???? 20. Thanks Sean, RJ, Just trying to save on some billet machine work!!! So is the attachment for the propshaft the same on any other diffs for the Ford range????? Yes you have guest it 😬 Trying to get carbon propshafts from the US. Our current supplier is surcharging nearly £200 for a 15mm length change (shorter not longer) Time to resource elsewhere RiF Building a real super SUPER 7 with a V6 😬 😬 😬.For Build Pictures and LOTS of Carbon or try CA07BON for Henrietta's 7
  21. I wonder if anyone knows if the Sierra Diff as used in our sevens was a standard unit in America? Was it used on any other Fords in the US? Trying to get some parts made and they seem to think my measurements are different to other American models? Injection fuel tank

I will shortly have a complete fuel tank with pump and sender, brand new, available. Just awaiting Pro Alloy copying the size and shape. 013873 75777 RiF Building a real super SUPER 7 with a V6 😬 😬 😬.For Build Pictures and LOTS of Carbon or try CA07BON for Henrietta's 7
  23. Hi Mav, No the Racetech and SPA are not interchangeable. Shame. We do do bigger mirrors but usually the standard plastic case convex work so well there is not really a need. 24. Can only get flat glass in the carbon shells at the moment. Racetech won't do convex as it is too fiddly to set the glass in. I am working on them as most customers want convex RiF Building a real super SUPER 7 with a V6 😬 😬 😬.For Build Pictures and LOTS of Carbon or try CA07BON for Henrietta's 7
  25. As David said, (thanks David) we spent a lot of time investigating and solving the problem. The heat is trapped and circulates around the rear of the gear box. It will not duct to the back, even with fans (tried). The only place it will easily come out is around the gearbox. Our option was to make a gear and handbrake gaitor to vent the air but you can cut a hole in the tunnel sides!!!! Insulating does not solve the heat build up. The heat is still there, just you feel it less. Many of our customers have changed the tunnel top to an RiF version and the footwells remain at a sensible temperature even in 42 degrees.
