  1. I have the JPE version which I am still intending to build someday - had it approx eleven years and the eyesight close up isnt just as good as it was so I need to get a move on - Got mine shipped from a Hong Kong Model shop no probs, I seem to remember it was approx £180 at the time, Good luck sourcing yours, daveR.
  2. Hi - So Sorry I'm late getting back with this - I was e-mailed by a club member with one of these for sale which I have bought. I thought it must be yourself who mailed me as it was the same wheel, but now I guess it isn't so I,m very sorry not to reply sooner - many thanks for your offer, kind regards, daveR.
  3. Paul Richards has one of these and I'm a bit jealous of it so if anyone has a s/hand quick release Momo wheel shaped like a figure 8 with two hand grips - like the old karting or airplane type of thing - and they wish to part with it plz let me know - many thanks, daveR.
  4. Sorry a bit late with this - Heard a Caterham approaching from round the corner whilst we picnicked above Malham Cove on Friday Afternoon - Silver Caterham went blating by - Can't remenber the reg now , something like GN or GK 51 We were cunningly disguised behind our Smart for two and had a beach shelter over our heads to boot. Had a nice Day !
  5. Spotted the SV that is hired out by Blue Sky Hire near Galgate Lancs The couple inside were on Holiday from Glasgow and having a great two days fun - Two more Caterham converts I think - Had nice chat near the Stork Inn at Condor Green. Edited by - Dave Rothwell on 26 May 2013 19:53:47
  6. Hello - think the reg was N 689 or 698 SUT - Green with yellow bonnet stripe and noseband - We gave you flash (OOERRR Matron) and wave from our tin top - we were off to Glasson Dock, picking up some Ice Cream on the way - Dave and Suzanne Edited by - Dave Rothwell on 26 May 2013 19:51:33
  7. Blue (i think - colour blind) - On my way to Lytham where it turned out there was quite a large car show *wavey* I was in the yellow Superlight cheers, daveR Edited by - Dave Rothwell on 9 Sep 2012 20:23:21
  8. White with Blue band Left you a calling card - Lovely day for a walk daveR and Suzanne
  9. Many thanks guys - I have asked the vendor to check your infomation - Also Caterham advise me if you look at the bottom chassis tube under the rear wheel arch If the chassis is Imperial then the bottom tube should be round section all the way (as is mine) - if metric then it will be round section joined to square section around the roll bar clamp area. Cheers for that, daveR.
  10. Hi all, Can anyone advise me if it's possible to tell if a chassis is metric or imperial from the chassis number. I'm looking to buy a cage from a club member but need to know the above as my car is imperial but the vendor is not fully sure about his cage so has supplied me his frame number. Otherwise anyone know the best person to talk to at Caterham to glean the same info from, Muchos Gracias as always, daveR. Edited by - dave Rothwell on 26 Jul 2012 10:47:26
  11. Shucks Stu - If only it had been Imperial - Managed to source a new RIF aero for mine a few weeks back with Pauls help, Cheer, daveR
  12. Markie and Shad - Many thanks for all your help - Most useful, will take some rivets out, kind regards, daveR.
  13. So grateful - these help a lot - Last question from Shads pictures it appears the front cage strut rests on the top bar of the sill and is then bolted through the skin - is there alreadfy a plate or tubing inside the skin welded to the top tube to take the bolt or do you have to have one welded in ?? With no plate I guess you will crush the skin in when you tighten up the bolt. My car is a 1999 Superlight. many thanks for all the help, daveR.
  14. Many thanks for these chaps - most useful - if possibly at some point when you have the camera out - a close up of the drivers side front leg mounting point taken from inside and outside would be most useful ( the outside shot showing both the cage and screen mounting). No rush at all - just sometime when the cloudy weather distracts from better subjects that may be in the vicinity 😳 Mucho appreciated, daveR.
  15. Hello all, Just had a stroke of unusual luck and managed to buy a never used RIF aero. The plan is to fit it to my superlight in the future along with a Caged Roadsport cage (with cross hoops). Just wondering if anyone has the same setup and could perhaps mail me a couple of pics of their car if this is the case. An added complication is that at present I have a battery cutoff switch mounted in the winscreen attachment area - The car is an original 1600 superlight so has a JPE aero fitted as standard at present. So a picture of this area showing the screen and cage attachment points would be most useful. Many thanks, kind regards, daveR.
  16. Many thanks for pointing me in the direction of the earlier threads on this subject - most informative, cheers again, daveR
  17. Again, Muchos Gracias for information to all, daveR
  18. Many thanks all for your contributions - Adrian - could you perhaps expand a little on the MOG/Rif explanation - does the same problem also apply to a roadsport cage ? best wishes daveR. HI Paul Edited by - Dave Rothwell on 12 Jan 2012 18:34:54
  19. Adrian - What was involved adding them - Side skins off and a welding job ?? Cheers,
  20. I was talking to a very nice knowledgable guy at Woodvale last year who had a Rif Carbon aero screen fitted to his car. He told me his screen had been borrowed by a new firm hoping to make a pattern as said company were intending to put this item back into production. Does anyone know if these items are available (or anything similar) - my car has has the older perspex JPE style aero fitted as standard to a 1999 superlight. Many thanks, daveR
  21. Many thanks guys - I have had the car ten years and it's had an aero on all that time dont have a hood or anything so thats no problem, cheers again, daveR
  22. Hope this isnt too numpty My Superlight is 1999 frame - will this be a metric or imperial chassis ?? Also can you get a SLR cage for this chassis and would the bushings for the side intrusion bars be already on the frame under the skins or would they have to welded on. Many thanks for any info gratefully received daveR
  23. Yes twas I - and many thanks for the wave and the Flash (ooer missus) most cheering. You were very quick to get the reg - I'm Hopeless - A lovely day - parked at Ribblehead for the sarnies and the sun went in - Set off again and out it came. There was a bizarre speed limit of 40 mph all the way from Ribblehead down into Ingleton, I guess there were supposed to be roadworks but nothing happening all the way to Ingleton. Sorry not to post sooner, Thanks Martin for alerting me to this. daveR
  24. I thought everything ground to a halt on wet leaves ?? 😬 You are only a mile and a half from my lair at Rising Bridge - do call if passing
