  1. Hi Tony I have the correct 36/4 flywheel on the 1.6 and it's matched (MEMS2 ?) ECU. 1.4 EU1 (or let's call it pre EU2) has a giant stepper motor acting on the throttle butterfly for idle and cold starting control (Yuk!) along with a slightly dodgy externally linked to butterfly spindle position JZX2963 TPS. Having just sourced a (new old stock 28 year old) one it did not cure the 1.4 Cheers David
  2. Hope it's just on the phone that formatting on the above looks awful.... ?
  3. Edited to be readable !! I am a little concerned now this task has many mismatches and pitfalls. EU1 1.4K SS coming out and EU2 1.6K SS going in. Will be big learning event and as long as can prep well and have things to hand, big lump should at least be swappable in a day with several pairs of hands. (Gearbox out/in with engine)? Had enough frustrations with the car so looking to remove most elements of surprise ! SORN since small person took over our lives :) He knows it as the broken racing car. Potentially...and please add to the list:- Lifting points, eyes to buy ? List and source all ancillary gaskets, bolts et al, lubricants, sealants. 1.6 has stood a long time. New Belt, Manual Tensioner, plugs, other checks? Sump bolts on 1.4 smaller (have a later spare pan) Input Shaft may need cutting 13-15mm Input Shaft may be wrong diameter? (Or is that only an early Six Speed issue?) Clutch to flywheel bolts potential mismatch M7 vs M8? Aim is to reuse cover and I have a good AP plate. I have a EU2 loom, but have yet to bell it all out (unwrapped, incomplete?). Anyone got a good one lying around to photograph and/or one for sale? Cam Cover same ? Ideally swap as 1.4 already drilled and tapped for Apollo. Already have converted to later, better Alternator config. Jobs to do while big hole in the middle? (Will get into building up a spare 1.6 with some salvaged 1.4 parts well after this swap done) Aim will be to document here for all to see how inept someone with an Engineering degree can be ;) Ta in advance all. David
  4. Pair of grey ones in reasonable nick up in Ackworth, possibly 2 or 4 in silver that will be cosmetically challenged. Drop me a blatmail and I'll check and photograph later.
  5. MGB533-M1144 front and Standard Ford Scorpio Rear. MGB535-M1144 also allegedly fit adding a little more surface area (look them both up on Merlin's site)
  6. Do not underestimate LSD set up and tyre combination in having something controllable in the wet. A021R with what I can only presume were well chosen ramp and preload made for a surefooted combination for such a light car. That became a Tillett eating 3500rpm limit on List 1A road tyres. As and when gets refurbished I hope present settings can be deciphered and duplicated.
  7. PROVISIONALLY SOLD (and locally, Sorry George could not reply to your mailbox) !
  8. Hi Ian, yes hoped it would go (and still hope) here before Facetube and/or EvilBay next week !! Will keep tripping over it rather than skipping it Recent cars with lowered floors perhaps changed the need for most. Personally I'm aiming for both at 6'1" and then likely need a clear Aero or Brooklands if ever compete again. Trades / part trades considered are a Caged X FIA bar for Imperial Dedion (as that I can store out of the way) else 2 or 3 black centred and polished outer (with intact lacquer) K&N Minators (6x13 EJ23)
  9. One last bump. Annoyingly got to take the other cage back off the car in order to fit a new dash panel behind it !
  10. Up again......Still in the garage but no longer used as bike anchor, just an obstacle.... Getting ever closer to Evilbay I'll even paint the attached red if someone across the hills wants it https://www.planetx.co.uk/i/q/FSOOHTB375YRA/on-one-headtube-badge-yorkshire-rose-for-steel-frame
  11. Boing to the top like a 1995 Caterham's ridiculous front springs....that are also garage ornaments ;)
  12. Just theoretical at moment but potentially looking to shift a tall Roadsport cage from South or West Yorkshire to Ipswich. Anyone have any brilliant ideas ? Cheers David
  13. You and me both Chris !! Open to offers and trades. Not going to be a cheaper way of getting an MSA valid cage on an Imperial Seven for 2017
  14. So no-one want a climbing frame for Sprinting in 2017 then? Open to Offers !
  15. Bump...Still being used as Bicycle anchor point !!
  16. I have a pdf copy of the Certificate which is a type/batch approval. That should suffice given the mounted sticker.
  17. Ed YHBM, it will be under that bad yellow paint, unfortunately some plates may have been put on crossed or incorrectly stamped meaning cage has to come off to see it. Safety Devices need photographic evidence of condition and identity.
