  1. Zebedee Need one Minator for Tuesday to give me 6 total so I can legally drive away from Curborough else have to leave the good tyres on the back and accelerate their wear πŸ™†πŸ» Looks like end of racing season before I start collecting sets 😬 Work, Drive, Eat, Drink, Oh S*** SLEEP 😳 1.4K SS 😬 Blue with white bits (and stonechips)
  2. Hmm, saw it too (does everybody else search ebay for 'caterham' every day to see what appears?) Looks like a decent project or parts collection to be split and resold (chassis probably no worse than mine ). It's being watched, though 6 days is a long time in ebay land 1.4K SS 😬 Blue with white bits (and stonechips)
  3. Right then. Hope someone can help 😬 What rivet gun is everybody (successfully) using? What size/type of rivets to start collecting? (and where to buy) I didn't build my 7 but I'm sure as hell going to stop it coming apart at the seams 😳 Drivers Floorpan looks like first job including inside footwell so probably need a good 90Β° type. Onto Dot's - Boot ones falling out and hoping to fit a tonneau soon (Never drilled for one despite being ex race chassis??). I'm hoping to fit newer bootcover (without the πŸ™†πŸ» velcro, with extra fasteners) Anybody know whether the rest still align? Main thing is any do's/dont's/hints. I will be practising on sheet aluminium and my brolly ! Ta muchly David 4,500 miles, 3 Months, 5 days, time to go unlimited mileage 1.4K SS 😬 Blue with white bits (and stonechips)
  4. Roger To make you feel better, Spotted, Ulley June 29th. In the P!$$ing rain (Good Man) (club meet so cheating, but ours were only 7's there) 1.4K SS 😬 Blue with white bits (and stonechips)
  5. 1.4K SS 😬 Blue with white bits (and stonechips)
  6. Still ☹️ after at least one (or more) Caterham Minator (Silver) in 6x13 DeDion Ford 4.25" PDC. Consider any condition but I'd like at least one clean one. Also 185/60 R13 part worn (i.e. cheap) Yokohama's 021's as trackday rubber. 😬 Edited by - David Lynch on 8 Aug 2005 21:33:35
  7. Jono, Check here. My 10 year old Supersport will be treated to one next year for £148 (Unless I grate any more sump metal off in the meantime) . Report in 'Low Flying' May issue I think. 1.4K SS 😬 Blue with white bits (and stonechips)
  8. John Killed my Clutch cable on Saturday ☹️, Zetec cable (K doesn't fit Zetec!) fitted as temporary repair (Thanks to fellow Blue Light Blatter, 3 cars, poor showing, we had fun 😬) I noticed same noise (buzz until slight pedal pressure). On fitting proper K series cable (unfortunately adjustable at both ends, unlike Zetec bottom only) same noise πŸ™†πŸ» wasn't dialled out until (as you've suggested) quite a bit of pre tension on cable. As rough guide, I have the lock nuts pretty central along both top and bottom threaded sections. Whether the noise was pedal box clutch spring without tension or release mech vibrating on cable end? Dunno 1.4K SS 😬 Blue with white bits (and stonechips)
  9. Anyone tried these yet as alternative to CR500's or 048R's ? They've appeared in 185/60 r13 form (£61 a corner, best so far) and quite fancied being a guinea pig. 1.4K SS 😬 Blue with white bits (and stonechips)
  10. Nice car Sir. Mango eh I've just replaced pads and discs on Tin Top this weekend (time for embarrased posting in Tech Talk 😳). Put it this way, handbrake bedded in. Not good. 1.4K SS 😬 Blue with white bits (and stonechips)
  11. B7FUN (I think?, Very Norfolk Mustard, Aero's, ) just setting off in opposite direction as we crested rise 😳 near Blubberhouses. Very rude of me not to stop but long way home for lunch and Moto GP bike dumping session on TV ( πŸ™†πŸ» to F1, I'll watch the 38 second highlight show on the news). I'll have to try B6451 from Otley going North next time . First 7 spotted from a 7 when not going to Clubmeets. I take it I'm not the only one who sits at the bottom of Red Brae Bank out of Pateley Bridge to allow traffic ahead to clear. Only setting off as a car appears in rear view mirror. Tsk Tsk. Top Blat. (discovered one on way home, B1223 North of Cawood, flat section through fields) 75 days of ownership, 3600 miles of smiles (better go unlimited mileage instead of 5000 then) 😬 1.4K SS 😬 Blue 'with white bits'
  12. Well done all those braving Mad Friday (I was with the Moggies at Arnage ). Finally spotted Arnie in the low flying Marker Pen 'K2RUM' on back roads escaping circuit. Blat Mail me and I'll forward (the better) piccies from Arnage as you passed 😬 or if caught you on the road. L7BRG, 52777 & 58703 (Guernsey), GF04RCE, B7FUN, X732GJF, P766TVF, N148SPB, R300RNH, and those where didn't photo the plates - Yellow with Black Stripe (Height riser on FIA Bar), Light Met Blue with Green 7 Grille, All Ali with Black Cycles and Red Rollbar ... at least we got to see some racing at 'Our' Indianapolis. Back next year in the 7 😬 Dover - Calais πŸ™†πŸ» 1.4K SS 😬 Blue 'with white bits'
  13. Top Video !! I know it was you Trevor as I'm the muppet in the red coat on the right 😬 Like the laugh from the video operator 1.4K SS 😬 Blue 'with white bits'
  14. Like the Drag Racer tyre warming technique Trevor. Help much on your Eco friendly Avons ? 😬 Or just stink ? 1.4K SS 😬 Blue 'with white bits'
  15. Nice work at Harewood all. Shame about the Weather for the bulk of the day (welcome to Yorkshire). Certainly some entertaining exit angles out of Quarry 😬. Who clobbered the timing reflector? 1.4K SS 😬 Blue 'with white bits'
  16. Tyrone I'll officially claim that one then. 😬. Not a clue re. 'M' Bikers Keep 'em peeled, Ta David
  17. Has anyone got experience of converting a dual foglight car (well I'm assuming the right, none functioning, full of water as cracked one is a fog too ) so that replaced with a reverse light? (My car doesn't have one at all) Does car of my vintage (95 Ex Race 1.4K SS) have necessary switching and wiring in place from gearbox? πŸ€” Ta Muchly Dave
  18. Could be my first spotted?, Claiming it anyway as timing right (blue with white noseband/stripe M reg). Lots of Harley's heading South, apologies if didn't acknowledge quick enough, I was concentrating! On epic 810 mile weekend starting East Yorks, Helmsley 😬, Darlington, Teesdale 😬 then up A68 from Tow Law, Got to Knockhill to watch end of a wet Caterham test session , Most of Fife Saturday 😬, Sunday back to Jedburgh to pick up second half of EN Yorks epic blat via Alston and Hartside 😬 Awesome first week of ownership 1,500 miles(and only one spotted!) 😬 Better go unlimited mileage...... 19. How about a forum where we can place requests for info (esp. photo's) relating to our cars. In my case an ex racer 1.4SS with nothing prior to 2001 (when she was 6 years old with 1128 recorded miles !! πŸ€”). Be great to fill in the gaps (even if may be painful what we find out) Cheers David Lynch Edited by - David Lynch on 16 May 2005 01:54:31
  20. Thanks all, many head scratching, blind alleys removed there then Phew. Glad I've picked such a easy first job. I'll report on my findings at end of month when task complete .... and for my next trick, juggling custard David (allegedly when it lands) 1995 1.4K SS
  21. Thanks Colin, that should get me away, or into a right pickle
  22. Has anyone documented the process of replacing the standard bar with an FIA Bar on a (1995 joke hankbrake) DeDion Car (when it finally arrives πŸ™†πŸ»)? Mainly concerned with the mount onto the rear suspension and tool requirements 😳. (Too tight to have Caterham fit one at over Β£400 ☹️) Ta muchly 😬 Dave
  23. Hello, I'm after Standard height FIA bar to fit 1995 1.4 SS DeDion, prefer black. Also looking for Bootcover BC23 to match and good pair of high back Cow seats. Ta muchly 😬 Newbie Dave Edited by - David Lynch on 9 May 2005 23:27:39
