  1. Hi What class do we fall under in Rockingham - Road Going Specialist Production (Classes 2A-2D)? I have not been paying too much attention recently so may have missed a critical message. Hope all is well with everyone - not long now before it all starts! Jon
  2. Sorry for the dual post, ironic given the comment in the message... :-)
  3. Hi. Could I take the final slot if still available? Would you be happy for Charlotte and I to share the slot as a single slot, not dual driving? Jon

    Awards dinner

All Great to see everyone today and congratulations to all class winners. I was 'thrilled' with my award, not least in seeing the list of past winners some of whom are now champions. Perhaps there is some hope yet! Once again, a huge 'thank you' to Chris and team for organising the day and for all the hard work during the season. Roll on next year not least since the first event is a 'home race' for us living only a few miles from Rockingham. Have a good winter Charlotte & Jon
  6. A big thanks to everyone who gave some pictures, I am afraid it was a bit of a rush job so some good pictures did not get included in the version for tomorrow. For those interested, tomorrows version is: https://1drv.ms/v/s!AinYbYDAsARQiHPqjcfE5lO3xi80 I will try to have another go to make it a little more polished and include some extra pictures in due course. Have a good winter and see you all next year. J & C
  7. All I appreciate it is late but if anyone has a few photos from 2017 that they feel able to share, I am going to try to put together a background set for the dinner tomorrow. The funnier the better... Please either email them to me: Jon at johnston-davies.net or put them directly into the following folder https://1drv.ms/f/s!AinYbYDAsARQgmMU-wVQnvpEbbjp See you tomorrow Jon
  8. Rob Please add Charlotte & I to the list. Thanks Jon

    Anglesey Photos

Michael There was a photographer called Phil Hen taking pictures on the Sunday. He has posted some on his facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/phil.hen.90/media_set?set=a.2049168858648275.1073741949.100006655413668&type=3 There are some very good photos. I know he took lots more of people pictures too - perhaps if you contact him directly he will share some. Jon
  10. We echo all the other posts that thank Chris for all his hard work, and Matt for the assistance, over the year. The championship is so well-run it makes competing so much more straightforward. Thanks also to everyone else for their help, advice, banter and overall camaraderie throughout the year, it makes the championship a real delight. Roll on next year! Jon & Charlotte
  11. How will the proposal work for dual drives - I presume we will be allocated different practise groups? I hope there will be sufficient 'vehicles of similar performance' so one of the dual drives does not end up in an unsuitable group... Jon
  12. Hi I would appreciate some advice on data logging and analysis software. Listening to others, the best 'upgrade' to improve times is an investment in the driver.. I use video but I feel some detailed position data on the track will help alongside the video. I have high-speed GPS for accurate positions/speed etc. I am thinking along the lines of comparing speeds/braking/acceleration. I know some folk use Harrys Lap Timer and Racechrono gets a mention; Circuit Tools looks good but I do not have a VBOX and so I am not sure how to record the data and import. Before buying any apps, I would be keen to hear others views on pros/cons etc. We are doing the Anglesey Track Day and ahead of the two sprints so it will be a chance to test out this approach. Any thoughts/advice would be much appreciated. Jon
  13. Chris We entered in early August so hopefully there is still space to squeeze us in... J & C
  14. Brilliant news - I hope you opted for some 'super light' metal in the repair. All the best for the Physio. Jon & Charlotte
  15. Tony We will be camping on Friday too - see you there! Is there any (paddock) plan showing where we can camp or is it a free-for-all? Jon & Charlotte
  16. Graham I sent you an email - Charlotte and I are interested but need to check some things. We are away this week. Cheers Jon
  17. Matt I am sure the earlier op is better, not least to keep Chris on his toes for your earlier return... We wish you all the very best and a speedy recovery. Charlotte & Jon

    New arrival!

Oli (Catherine & Charlotte) Fantastic news, we are very glad all has gone well. Now that you are home, the fun starts with a steep learning curve of lots of new skills..... All the very best Jon & Charlotte
  19. Well done to all, a great fight to the end in some classes. First, a huge round of applause to Chris for keeping the whole show running smoothly and from a personal perspective, constant support and encouragement to both of us. An honourable mention to Matt for all his hard work with the times/scores and dry remarks to keep me right at all times.. Finally, we are grateful to everyone for their patience and tolerance of the 'idiot questions' and particularly all the advice and tips. It has been a steep learning curve but so much fun due to everyone else. We are sorry to miss the dinner but enjoy the photos... Have a good winter and hope to see you all next year. Charlotte & Jon
  20. All Just a little reminder to those who might still have some pictures or video to contribute. I am sure there must be some video of some 'oops moments' lurking somewhere. I imagine there is one from Anglesey for example...... although 2 wings would seem one too many for some..... Just add them to the link in the first post - I will remove them quickly to keep up the suspense Thanks to all those who have contributed so far - there are some great pictures (although some subjects might disagree). Jon
  21. Hi On Chris' suggestion, if anyone is interested in a taxi from the circuit to the meal on Saturday night (and back!), add to this post and I will investigate the options. See you all Friday/Saturday Jon
  22. All Thanks to those who have posted some pictures, I have moved the 'evidence' out to another folder to keep the surprise at the dinner. There are some 'interesting' images so far. I do think there may need to be a 'steward's enquiry' into the authenticity of some video clips - the lengths some people will go to setting a 'record'. Please keep the pictures coming Jon
  23. Charlotte and I are camping too so happy to add to the taxi queue - perhaps we can get a list together to negotiate/book some lifts. Happy to coordinate Jon
  24. Hi As I was standing around with my camera at Wiscombe, Chris was quick to 'take me to one side' and ask if I would 'volunteer' to put together a photo montage of the L7 Speed Championship for 2016 to show at the Dinner. I could not refuse such an offer () so.... I have (hopefully) set up a shared folder on my OneDrive account that has public access so that everyone can add images (photos or video clips) so that I can put together a montage. Of course, the most technically perfect (aka embarrassing) photos will get automatically selected ... . The link is: https://1drv.ms/f/s!AinYbYDAsARQgQLSKjgJR-dvg9lf Have a good rumage around for some pictures - the more the merrier to remind us of the fun this year. Please let me know if it does not work or you cannot upload files. Cheers Jon
