  4. If you around Carmarthenshire on holiday more than happy for you to leave it with me for th week.
  5. When trying to start new post there is no post button. It looks fine in this section but not on the speed section.
  6. Just taken seven for its mot. Not driven it since May 17. Feels so fast. Looking forward to Loton. Think the nut behind the wheel is a bit rusty.
  7. What pressure should by tyres be at? Unable to remember and think I might be a bit low. Thanks David
  8. What pressure should by tyres be at? Unable to remember and think I might be a bit low. Thanks David
  9. Paul there will be little difference between the two classes on the bottom section, you could be quicker. I think times to the last left hander will be close, then the power will take over. If its raining you could win both classes David
  10. Thanks to all for a great days motorsport. What wonderful weather and loads for runs Here is my fastest right clink and open in new tag David
  11. The rims fit the big brakes at the front with no issues. They were designed for the seven but not sure the offset. send me your email address to david@nelsons.me.uk and will send some photos. David
  12. A set of force wheels fronts 6 1/2 rear 8 1/2. These have been sitting int he garage for the few years. They are the new type with extra strengthening and writing on them. Bought new by me 5 years ago for sprinting and have had very little use. current tyres are ZZR's with some life left on them £600 Delivery: will be heading to London, Sat 25th but would be happy to meet up. I am traveling from West Wales. other options are available.
  13. Malcolm's plenum has been signed off many years ago. I remember the discussion at the time . It would have been silly to have made him buy a new plenum . I guess it's the only bit left from his 1.4k?
  14. Chris thank you for the clarification. I thought it was as Mark had written but there was some room for confusion due to the way it was written. David
  15. Mark interesting . My standard 1.8ss was produced with a plastic plenum. This was the standard plenum for my engine spec. Despite this I am able to put a non standard plenum on my car. Go one stage further is this standard for Caterhams or all k series as these too would by your definition be standard production plenums for this engine? david
  16. Dan Mark is correct. Vvc plenum allowed for 1.8 but not 1.6 if you read it that way. It also say via standard plenum so it could read it's not allowed, as it's not standard to you model . Chris, could you as comp sec clarify this please. As it is unclear thanks David
  17. Dan welcome to the madness of class 2 and 3 . Should get a sigma engine and use any induction you like TB or plenum. well back to topic i understood the 1.4 supersport plenum as specific to Caterham and a now very difficult to find. Under the 2016 regs your seven is now obsolete for class 2and 3. Sorry to give you this bad news. Even with less power than the more modern sevens but we need to accept democracy as the was a vote and that's that. if I was comp sec and I am not a pragmatic way would be to buy a standard plenum and put a 52 MM TB on it. Going to a VVC plenum would upset people.IIRC it did not make any difference to car retro fitted with them to either bhp or torque. just remember old cars with no spares and less power are have to rely on finding parts and driver talent, modern sevens can have programmable ecu, and any given induction. ps if you do fit a sigma then I am sure someone will say it not the original engine for your car and throw their toys out of the pram.

    New arrival!

Congratulations to you and the whole family. Welcome to the world Charlotte. always like good news enjoy your sleepless night's Oli. david
  19. What about the testing? What about the driver instruction ? You may say it's not needed but why do so many in different formula do it?
  20. Currently looking at options to increase my power. If I spend 3.5 k I am able to get to the power I want either with a sigma, 1.6 or 1.8k. it just would have been so much cheaper and easier to pop an ecu on and get it mapped. Would have cost under 1k. I guess next year there will be a further vote and others will see what's possible and we will get to just a power limit. hay ho it's only money, and you only live once. david
  21. I AGREE WITH MARK (OMG) "I am with Oli there is more to sprinting than top end power and you can be fast in a straight line but unless your car set up is good, so you can brake and maximise your apex speed you will not succeed. The biggest gains to be made are in driver ability and I would spend my money on driver training as this is the area for the biggest gains. There have been plenty of examples where drivers throw the cheque book at the car and then are disappointed that they are not competitive. There are also numerous examples where the car with less power regularly beats the more powerful." If you are just starting sprinting do not spend loads of money on engine power at first. Yes we have seen some who have got faster with more power, but its an art and a skill to be fast. The discussion is about me, I am getting slower as I get older and would like the extra 13.5 BHP to help me out. Slow reactions, mind wandering off, needed a track map to remember the direction to go. I like the idea of weight reduction but as i get older the weight just pills on. David
  22. Chris Thanks for the conformation re supersport . Oli: Its the open ECU so the engine can be mapped. This is not allowed for the K series engines. It looks as if there are no restrictions on Sigma engines. you can have any Cam, port the head, run any induction and program your ecu David
