  3. Doors for an S3 and half hood for roadsport cage. thanks David
  4. Looking to reinstall wipers to my seven. Anyone got a wiper mechanism sitting around the would sell? Thanks David Thank you Blatchat: all sorted.
  5. Does anyone have a pair of doors for sale? Also looking for a half hood. David Doors found still looking for 1/2 hood
  6. Goodfabs are proper fabricators based near Thame. They do loads of work for F1 and Indy. I guess this is for a Caterham exhaust manifold might be helpful to say to say which one. David
  7. Graham and team; i thank you for all your hard work and will be good to seeing how next year pans out. As an older person having been around can i ask have we not just returned to a class structure of years gone by. Class 2/3 are more or less the same through the ages class 4 was list 1A tyres with R500 competing , class 5 list 1b. up to r500 spec I think we then split class 4 to list 1b with limited bhp (not able to remember 190bhp) and class 5 was up to 230bhp? class 4 was in place to give sevens like R300, VVC , SLR a home. not knowing the current sprint cars or the current caterham car line up I appears there is no natural home for these. It may very well be they non left as all been modified. I am sure this has been considered as does not effect me but 156 bhp is a long way off 220bhp. David
  8. I think class 4 and class 5 should be separate. I could produce some data but its too early in the morning. What i do remember was that when I was in class 5 the difference between my 210 bhp and Shaun's Durtec was significant. Gurston down I was quicker till the last corner and Shaun's additional power pulled the time back and went ahead. I think it was a pull back and gain of 0.8 sec. Looking at Goodwood my 210bhp was competitive vs an R500 but big power not a hope. I am sure on some events it will make little diffrence, but Antree, Goodwood, Gurston, or any on the places you can use all the bhp it will.
  9. Steve I will be looking at all tyres, doing back to back testing find my preferred tyres for the hills, sprints and lets not forget the wet. so that 3 sets min, also will need a practice set for each , so now 6 sets.
  10. Richard Thanks for that. I will be driving to events next year so its good that it looks as if they last.
  11. Richard thanks know understand. What is the life expectance in competition. Are they a one season tyre or do they continue to give performance?
  12. Richard, sorry can you clarify the compound that is OK for class 3. You post has confused me, although it does not take a lot for me to be confused Thanks David
  13. With a 226bhp engine you should be able to loss 6bhp or more . When I was in class 4 190BHP many moons ago my engine made 210bhp and was detuned/ optimized to 190 bhp. You should know what the power is for class 4 when the regs are sorted.
  14. Steve yes hope so, not expecting too much for my 1st year back. David
  15. Roy Blyth Sorry but disagree with you. Good thing we live in a country where we are aloud to have differences. If you happy to turn up and have a bit of fun that's great each to there own. For me I want a far as possible , level playing field. Many years ago when I was relatively quick having a tyre warmer was an advantage, I am sure it is still so today. Sprinting is a competition, not a primary school sports day where everyone wins. If I want fun I go skiing, or fishing or something that is not a competition. Just show we all do thing for different reasons. Engine power has also been a topic I enjoy discussing, but lets just say the current rules mean that we all can all have a level playing field; class 1 130BHP, Class 2,3 155BHP, Class 4 TBC ? 210 or 220BHP Class 5: ect ect . The ambiguity of I have these cams, with this ecu and should make X has been removed. Each competitor has a duty not to cheat, and to abide to the rules.
  16. I am with Richard on this. Having previously competed in classes where there have been duel drives my impression has always been that I was disadvantaged. With the loss of tyre warming and the change of compounds it appears to be a logical step, one that I thought had been sorted. I can except that if it rain after the fastest duel driver and the rest are slower its an act of God. (sorry if you do not believe) lets say is just unlucky. The only time I think this does not work is when you have a shared drive with both being far to fast and not sure who is quickest, eg Tom or Richard Then it should be down to their position the previous year.
  17. Duel drives: fastest goes first. Thought this was sorted years ago. Warm tyres must have an advantage. It used too. Class 4 clarification. Are bike engines allowed? I read it as they are not? Class 210bhp sound about right. If you have a 220bhp can be detuned. Agree about where it sits in the previous Caterham and current Caterham range. Class 5 should allow factory car to run, so if they have sequel gears and traction control should run in this class. Any non standard things like paddle shift should not be allowed.
  18. Ray Snoates did a great writing up this month. Think its time to see if the sparco fits or a diat is needed. role on 2022
  19. Thanks Dave. I can see a few pros and cons. If I go back to eu2 then I can sell all my eu3 bits and kmaps ecu. That would help with some of the cost towards the jenveys. Eu3 sounds technology has the edge. Guess I could go wasted spark with the eu2. Thinking time. Thank
  20. it will be a k6 so the later version. yes on throttle bodies. thanks David
  21. Planning on using an K6 Emerald on my K series. current configuration is EU3 however I have all the its to change back to EU2. Other than the £175 it would save me going back to EU2 what is the real diffrence? thanks David
  22. Thanks for the heads up. Looks as if there were some last month. will keep an eye out
  23. Laurence Give Simon Rogers at Raceshocks a call. I was in there a few weeks ago and they were changing dampers on a 620 sv. I am sure he will be able to help.
