  1. Vinnie and myself gave it a go n gave up after 10min. So we did it the easy way... cut the pipes to length and shaped.. went down to local garage n the guy there did them for me for 10€ whilst I waited (coffee and cake included) 😬
  2. Intresting.... Iv already got the bits for my oil temp sender etc from Smiths but was waiting till I take the sump off to brase in a new boss.. this could same me the trouble... anyone know if the K series and XF have the same thread on the sump plug.???? or even what the thread is on a XF plug??

  9. according to DVA's gearing prog http://members.aol.com/DVAndrews/ thats about right.. overdrive 5th, big tyres, 3.62 diff all adds up to a long ratio.. but it also means I can get 48-50 in 1st with my BGH E6 😬 a 3.92 diff will give you 83 (£££)...

  11. Ah.. I assumed that it being a '87 is was LA... where's me coat 🤔
  12. Isnt a Live axle tank a different shape to a DD tank... I know that the DD boots are several cm deeper than a LA boot and in my LA the wood plank sit right ontop of the tank, Im not sure it could get any lower with the tank there...
  13. Peardrop.. just wondering why you are fitting the English??? is the ital broken?? if its not then why bother changing.. my ital is currently having 160'ish bhp through it n (touch wood) no issues so far (nr 7k miles). As said above, Arch will wont it to fit the mounts as the std ones are not used (100ukp+?).. I think a different A frame will be required, but not sure on that.. why not just put the cash towards a Quaife LSD for the ital, sell the English for another 100ukp+ n your 1/2 way there PS.. I like your car.. looks nice Edited by - Chris K on 24 Feb 2005 13:31:08
  14. Or there is WKm's (white knuckle meters).. as used in 702 and 829 Sqdn when you where the other side of the hanger from stores n didnt have a torque wrench. 😬

  16. OK. I was checking the oil in the diff over the weekend n I remembered a thread a long time ago about a product that was recomemded to use with LSD to reduce wear in oil surg situations (I did say its a ital!) but for the life of me I can find the brand name.. Moslip or something maybe?? I can find this thread here that talk about Jeep additive but that also it talking about ZF diffs not Quaife... would that be OK to add it or not?? as GF works next to a Chrysler dealer. ta Chris
  17. hoods are the same for DD and LA.. but I suspect your problem will be the full cage... I dont think teh hood will fit over that.. but someone who has a cage will be able to confirm.
  18. 1 guy at work was late in this morning cos on the way into work his car started to die on the motorway.. its happened before to him and he knew that the gas Pot' was on the way out (toyota yaris).. usally car comes back to norn after a few prods of the pedal he says but has now resigned to getting it fixed Toyota want 500€ + labour to replace it as its out of warentee.. only 2+1/2 years old but 150,000 Kms.. 😳
  19. dunno abou the 17" as my car is in hte garage 20miles away... *exactly* the same happened to me.. different deals both 'std' and the roll bar was tall.. NP for me as I sit quight in the car anyway,, so bonus, but roof didnt fit!! upon fitment, pull the hood towards the screen and the roll bar will be visable sticking into the hood.. std should have the roof hoops as the highest item not the FIA bar,, does that answer you Q. and for a fix take it to Oxted trimming in Oxted (with your car) and they will adjust it to fit. 20. LOADS of LA cars run on AO21's without issue... it seems to be the std first upgrade, if you want to play safe (irrelivent of rubber) over fill the diff by about 0.5-0.9 ltr (through the breather or the additional (higher) 'race' filler if you have one) AO32's are maybe a little too sticky for a ital axle, but some here do run them,,
  21. Do you mean the bar thats is at the lower front edge of the fuel tank.. I bent this jacking up the car when i first go it.. Gary at free style noticed it and kindly bent it back for me.. says that is not critical in any way other than to keep the shape of the rear end (which is not structural) and provide a mounting for the fuel tank, straps etc etc I understand that if you had a remote fuel tank I *think* you could happly chop off everything (chassis) behind your bum and the upper shock mounts without much effect
